Border Terror Tunnels?

Al Qaeda makes its latest threat and we are now here along the border in San Ysidro to show that Customs and Border Agents are on the lookout for any threat…whether that be above ground, or below. Here is our report.

  1. Adam,
I think this tunnel situation is scary. Even if this was a false alarm it could still happen. Our borders are safer than a few years ago but not yet safe.

  2. There isn’t enough money in this world to get me to go into those tunnels!

  3. Max Kon Says:

Why does the government (here too) insist on allowing and doing things that in the past brought around the deaths of empires?

  4. Max,
Governments never seem to learn from history.

  5. cheryljones Says:

What’s wrong w/my video? It cuts out about every 4 seconds and takes 4 seconds to start up again. In the middle, I get this little swirly circle like it’s catching up!

  6. Cheryl,
    Goblins have invaded your computer!

  7. cheryljones Says:

    Got it fixed!
Stay safe down there, Adam. I’ve got to run, but will be back.

  8. Adam… how long are those tunnels?

  9. Max Kon Says:

    Sylvia: πŸ˜€
Those pesky internet goblins. At least it’s not a troll infestation like those which happen so often on message boards. πŸ™‚

  10. Max,
You are right…goblins are better than trolls!

  11. cheryl, that called “buffering”, and thats what it is doing, catching up.
Probably a slower internet connection or one with a lag at the moment.
I always let mine play through once without the speakers, then play it again to get past that problem.

Im not going in those tunnels either!!

    I say….BLOW EM UP!

  12. Patty,
I agree…blow them up…just make sure nobody is inside them first. We don’t want to be accused of killing terrorists or smugglers.

  13. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: I wouldn’t mind getting accused of that.

Patty: I get buffering a lot. I pause the video. Stangely it downloads like 10 times faster then.

  14. Good Morning. Another chilly day here.
Max and Patty….I never heard of buffering until now. It’s amazing how much I learn from this blog.

  15. cheryljones Says:

Maybe I should get some Bufferin? OMG-I don’t even think I’ve seen any of that in YEARS! Showing my age this morning…very easy to do πŸ™‚

Now-as to the video-Bill sure didn’t sound like he wanted Adam’s truth.
Adam, keep telling it like it is. We’re listening.

  16. Cheryl,
Bill Hemmer is from Cincinnati. I wonder if he says “you all” or “ya’ll”.

  17. I also thought maybe Adam got cut a little short, but, I figured it’s just me, because I rarely get to see his live’s first hand.

    ‘morning all!

  18. doggiesallover Says:

He says “Ladies and gentlemen” LOL
PS You’ll see I’m back to my alter ego. Sheesh.

  19. doggiesallover Says:

Well, Patty! Good morning. See, we DO agree on something. πŸ™‚

  20. oh crap, I had my mind made up that today was going to be a better day than yesterday (long story) and now I start it by agreeing with a lib.

*muttering as i go rethink life*

  21. πŸ™‚

  22. Cheryl…Are you sure it’s not a senior moment and you can’t remember your name???LOL

Patty…When you’re done rethinking life would you please share the info. I sometimes agree with Cheryl too.!!!LOL

  23. Sylvia….or….typical lib…multiple personalities!!!

    now i MUST go work!!!

    j/k cheryl!!!

  24. doggiesallover Says:

Oh, Patty and Sylvia, you made MY day a WONDERFUL day! LOL-can’t remember when I’ve had the joy of having 2…2 uh…can’t seem to get that word out…2 non-liberals (YEAH! That’s it!) agree with me, at least not w/out a few beverages. NEVER before lunch.
Think Adam will ban us all at the same time or one by one? LOL

  25. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Good morning all and HAPPY FRIDAY – YEEHAWWWWW

We finally got a bit of rain last night – along with very LOUD thunder. Rain, I don’t mind – thunder I hate.

Like I said on the other post when I watched Adam doing his live shot, you wouldn’t catch me in those tunnels either – Just blow them all up and be done with it.

Adam, I did not see you crawling into that tunnel – Geraldo would have done it (really laughing out loud)

  26. KC…oohhh everyone is ziiiinging today!!!
His mustache would have gotten stuck in there!

  27. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

It is the happy friday syndrome – lol
You are right – his mustache is probably wider than the tunnel opening – now that would be a sight to see!!!

  28. doggiesallover Says:

If not his mushatche, his EGO would have gotten him stuck-as it certainly has in other situations.

  29. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

you are soooo right – he has done some pretty stupid things. I remember sitting on pins and needles when he did the Al Capone cave thing – what a joke that turned out to be along with so many of this other stunts – LOL

  30. You have to admit that he can be very entertaining. Did you see the show he did called My name is Earl (I think that is the name) It was a huge spoof of his shows and was really funny. I saw it on after Fox showed a clip of it one night.

Patty.. hope your day goes much better than yesterday.

    Everybody have a great Friday!!

  31. doggiesallover Says:

You know, to give him his due, he always did say that the Vault ‘could be nothing’ though.
He just got to believing his own hype, I think, and it turned around and nipped him on the…ankle.
He was here in Beaumont during Hurricane Rita, was downtown, talking about the wind and destruction. Had his camera person zero in on some of it- it was a plastic cup being blown around. Oooh. Scary! I’m sure it made everyone want to evacuate right then!
But it’s a crazy job, and someone has to do it, stand out in the middle of the street in a hurricane.

  32. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Must agree – he can be very entertaining
Doggie your post (pointing up) reminded me when he was covering another storm/hurricane somewhere and the water knocked him down on his butt – the firemen came over to help him up and he looked like a wet puppy – he was spitting everywhere because of the dirty, contaminated water that had gotten in his mouth. They showed that clip all day. You are right – someone has got to do it, and he sure does not mind covering those kind of stories. Gotta give him credit

  33. anthrax threat? Lord—-

Yay to the American Tunnel Task Force for finding more tunnels….

and of course, these are used to smuggle drugs— I see 33 more deaths relating to drug cartels this past week-end….

GREAT JOB, Adam– did you get into one of these tunnels?

  34. Max–

did you see Hemmer on RedEye a couple nights ago? He has a great personality!

Adam needs to be invited back to RedEye–

  35. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    good morning to you
Are you still doing your volunteering with the kitties??? How is it going you busy girl you

  36. KC…i think that was Galveston last season.

Hiya Susan…check your snail mail on Monday!! πŸ™‚

  37. doggiesallover Says:

KC, I think that was in Galveston TX during Hurricane Ike last year. I have a blogfriend in Iowa who was monitoring the national news for me since we were here without anything but local radio. She called me and was just horrified that he would be there doing that, but laughing, too.
    Guts? Oh, yeah!

  38. doggiesallover Says:

You know, Adam, I’d like to know how long some of those tunnels are, too. Proves that desperation to be in America can overcome a lot of fears, doesn’t it?
I’d go through one, just for the experience. Probably wind up being one of those things I wouldn’t take a thousand dollars to have done, and wouldn’t take 2 cents to do again.
Wait. Let me see what my other self says…

  39. Morning KC and Patty—

Yes– KC- still doing the volunteer work– Plus I am going to start at another shelter– 4 Paws– they have taken in four of my cats I have trapped– so I am TRULY obligated to them– I love this work– it makes me feel sooooooooooo good– Cats are cool– I am glad I have learned to love and understand them– mine are truly amusing– I opened the windows this morning to let the nice cool breeze in and I was having a good time watching the boys jump from windowsill to windowsill trying to figure out how to get outside so they could go bird hunting—

And your fun begins for the week-end– get the juke box going–

I am doing a birthday thing tomorrow for Frank– (His wife is in Germany so I am going to have him over for a birthday dinner plus we are all going to go to the movies– I am making a cake from scratch and this should be interesting– as I never bake~ πŸ˜€ )

doggies– I love dogs too– I have one right now which replaced my other dog whom I lost– and she is awesome– I use to do dog saving– but somehow I ended up doing the cat thing now as I started feeding one cat and it turned out to be more cats and then I brought two in and so on and so on– I think it is awesome how you rescued 11 dogs– when I lived in Mexico City, my dad and I use to rescue dogs– and we had several at one point– So you have my total admiration— I bet you have dog hair all over the place~ πŸ˜€

Patty– hmmm? I checked my email yesterday and I did not see anything from you– need to go over there and check again–

and did I see you now have another raccoon? Patty’s raccoon shelter! Kudos to you!!!

And I did see that segment when Geraldo got knocked down last year while covering the hurricane– ouch!

And speaking of tunnels– when I was much younger- centuries ago, we were in Guanajuato City, and there was a tunnel there with mummies– apparently: “The Mummies of Guanajuato are a number of naturally mummified bodies interred during a cholera outbreak around Guanajuato, Mexico in 1833. The bodies were mummified due to the air and weather in the area.” and people could not afford the plots for the ones who died so some of these ended up in a tunnel– eerie to drive through it–

    lots of tunnels in Guanajuato—

  40. ADAM…theres questions to be answered…you get stuck in a tunnel?

  41. Susan…not email…but snail mail, ya know, the outside box that you look into every 2 weeks! πŸ™‚

  42. @Patty—

No– I don’t see the snail mail you sent– dang!!!

  43. KC–

Your email— the mexican lion dog is way cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Doggies would love it-

Idea— these could be used for tunnel guarding– in the dark, these would look like lions— that should scare off a few people! πŸ˜€

  44. I go to the grocery and fruit market and come back to a gazillion comments. WOW!

  45. @Patty—

    OMG– DUH AND DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just there yesterday– but I will check it again today and not wait those two weeks you are so right about!!! Usually, it is about every three days– πŸ˜€

  46. Speaking of which– time for me to do the grocery thing myself—
    cake decorations–

or Patty just send me the birthday cake from a couple week-ends ago– your grandchild’s- that was a cute cake–

    (over night express! πŸ˜€ )

  47. final thought here–

I did not know lizards hiss—A few nights ago my two cats and dog were very involved in something under a table– the three had cornered a lizard and the hissing is what got me to look as well as why these three were all gazing at something–

At first I thought it was a baby rattlesnake and it scared the chara out of me– until I got up close and saw a lizard emitting a hissing noise– I threw a towel over it and got it outside– Plus I found the tail– still moving– I was like freaking out!!!!

(this would be one of the times I wish Ken had his full mind– πŸ˜€ which I think he does but he pretends– He yelled at me last night because there was a cockroach (one of those big ones Arizona is so good at having) crawling on the floor and he gave me his shoe to kill it– TRUE STORY!!!! )

The exterminator is coming Monday to do the whole outside– I hate those roaches!!!! NASTY and I am not going to start a rescue shelter for these disgusting things~ πŸ˜€

  48. windy here– I hope Santa Anna is not doing its thing– I haven’t turned on the tele to see if there are more fires in CA-

    Good day @ all–

  49. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

With the thunder storms we have been having for the last few days, it has been worse down south. There were reports of 15 fires, but luckily, they all were put out without much damage. Thank goodness.
Also, down south, 2 women were struck by lightning and killed. One got under a tree to get out of the storm and was struck. Wrong thing to do ever. The other woman was in her car and a huge tree was struck and landed on her vehicle crushing her and the car. Sad situation for all.

  50. KC,
we had bad storms here Tuesday night. The temp dropped from 91 to 60 overnight. Then we had chilly, wet days Wednesday and Thursday. Today is beautiful…70’s and sunny.

  51. KC—

I heard about the two women getting killed– very sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and bizarre how it happened–

I was just headed out the door and two women were coming up my entry to save me– from a church, to hand me a pamphlet– “Are You 100% Sure You Will Go Heaven”

Dumb me had to answer them– I said 10% sure but with lots of room left for error– And then the salvation thing got started—

I finally had to end the conversation with I was not sure of anything until I get to that point– πŸ˜€

    Boy are these people persistent!!!

  52. Adam Housley Says:

Barb- The agents only count tunnels that actually go a significant distance underground, meaning they don’t count the ones that just go under the fence a few feet on either side. We are talking about tunnels that go from a house on one side to a building on the other for example and more than 104 have been found since the 1990’s.

    Doggies….no ban. For now.

KC…I have been in a tunnel and would go into another. This time we were just reporting on the crazy cleric’s threat, no new tunnels had been found.

AND PATTY….i traveled to Nor Cal for the weekend, so I was in transit….not in a tunnel thankfully! πŸ™‚

Hi Susan. Be quiet John, keep packing Max. Just sayin.

  53. Hi Adam…. are you having a good day?

  54. Susan, they were “worried” about you!!!! πŸ˜‰

    Adam….nice to “see” you!
Travel safe as always….enjoy your weekend πŸ™‚

  55. Patty,
    Any weekend plans?

  56. Sylvia, our banker would probably really appreciate if I actually sat down and balanced out acc’t.
I havent done that since the hay shed work started and I am REALLY behind. So, Im thinking, this is a paperwork weekend.

Our towns city wide garage sales are going on, it makes people nuts!! I’m going to stay out of town as much as possible!
Weather has been beautiful here too. Sounds like the heat sets back in tomorrow.
Ours did that quick change the other night when we had storms, but that temp changed in about 20 minutes while I was sitting on the porch.
I absolutely love the mid 70’s during the day and upper 50’s at night. Could have this year around and I would be set!

  57. Patty,
If the government doesn’t have to balance the books why do we?

  58. I hear that Sylvia. Funny that is one place where I have a hard time getting past my OCD. My books need to be “done” and done right.

  59. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Why am I not surprised – LOL Have a great and relaxing weekend if that is possible for you.

Must agree with Patty – they must have been really worried about you (big grin)

Book work – yuk – I always wait until the last moment too – but I am with you, they need to be done and done right. I bet those city wide garage sales are really something. Don’t have those here, but I can imagine the crowds, mess, etc. Don’t blame you for staying away.

Did ya buy anything good and interesting at the grocery store?? I have to do that chore very soon.

Weekend plans???? Well, you all know me – so – enough said (big happy grin)

  60. Max Kon Says:

Susan: Yes I saw him on, he’s pretty funny.

    Adam: *keeps packing*

  61. KC,
Just normal groceries…nothing exotic. Larry is grilling hamburgers tonight and I will prepare salad. I’m going to stirfry the sugar snap peas that he grew, along with red bell pepper (from the fruit market). I’ll use olive oil, shallots, and thyme in the stirfry.

  62. Time to sit outside and bask in the beautiful day. I just took Mom to the hair salon nearby, and will pick her up in about 1 1/2 hours. So will catch a few rays inbetween.

  63. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Yum – that sounds good
We will leave the exotic things for Max – lol

  64. KC…your weekend “grins” always make me smile!!!
Have a great time, I know that goes without saying!

Sylvia, shallots? same as green onions?
Peas….nothing better than creamed new peas and tators! YUM!
(‘cept we dont plant them anymore)

Thanks, have been sitting here wondering what we were going to have for supper….now I know. Instead of “sh*t on the shingles”….it will be hotdog gravy, maybe the store will have fresh peas to add. Sometimes, ya just gotta be a kid and eat hotdogs! πŸ™‚

  65. Patty,
Shallots are sort of an onion/garlic combo. They are bulb shaped but smell more like onions.
As for hotdogs…Nathans beef dogs are the best. They are famous in NYC but you can now get them at Krogers.

  66. Adam…………Whaaaaaat??????? I’m being quiet.

Ofcourse I could spice things up a little bit and tell you about my tunnel experiences……………the Tunnels of love that is. But, I guess you’re right…….I best be quiet.

  67. Max Kon Says:

KC: leave them for me? Well send them over before they rot! πŸ˜›

  68. John…*LOL*
    *throwing hands up over ears*

  69. Sylvia, no Krogers here. and no shallots, and no fresh peas.
Ugh, the down parts of small towns.
But, you can add pineapple upside down cake to the supper list….silly susan just had to mention cake! *L*

  70. Patty,
Has anyone ever made a pineapple rightside up cake?
    Just wondering.

  71. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

That was good – memories – tunnel of love, lovers lane, parking at the lake looking for UFO”s (laughing), backyard sleepovers, waiting for “guests to arrive”. Ahhhhh the good old days.

Make sure you pack a lot of dry ice in that package before you send it over. lol

  72. Sylvia, I guess I do, cause I dont tip it over out of the pan. It just stays sticky stuff down πŸ™‚

  73. John,
Actually, I’d like to hear your stories about tunnels.
Feel free to elaborate on yours.
We may as well make Adam crazy (crazier?).

  74. Patty,
If anyone is going to make something rightside up instead of upside down it would be practical you! LOL
Not that the others who blog here are impractical….I would never suggest that.

  75. bahahaha
When Patty “bakes”…might as well look for lightning to strike! It doesn’t happen often. Hubby just came in and asked 2 questions, 1) are you sick and 2) who’s coming to visit?
    *L* what a guy!

That reminds me, KC, those women that died. So sad.
Taking cover in lightning or tornado is about the same, that means you hit the ground and become as “small” as you possibly can.
Such freak accidents happen so often, mostly because we take mother nature for granted. I used to be a daredevil and push the odds, but the older i get, the less important the odds are. Its all about survival now.

  76. Patty,
Your hubby is a brave man to ask those questions.

  77. @ all–

You are a true fun time!!!!!

sooo glad you stepped in John– I am stlill trying to figure out who the Senator is you flew with? Hints?

Patty~ it was the 90% of me not being saved— πŸ˜€ I even pointed to all the cat dishes outside and showed them the how maybe a good deed will get me somewhat inside to the Pearly Gates to which the ladies responded~ good deeds do not make me saved~

    To which I responded~ a good deed is a Godly act~

to which they responded~ I had to have Jesus in my mind-

Ok then– I will go on a murder spree and ask the good Lord to save my ass– Now I am saved~

    I am more worried about them~ πŸ˜€

I should have told them to bring animal food instead of these pamphlets next time they visit– LOL

Krogers is aka Frys over by me– I like Frys– they have good deals– I grocery shop at Safeway, Frys, and of course Wal-Mart– price match with the food- and a bunch of other stores– depending if I want to eat healthy or trash my body with garbage! LOL

I will one day melt a bunch of cheese on a plate and throw everything on it but the kitchen sink and eat the greasy cheese, like soup, and then the next day eat a bunch of veggies~

I just love my chocolate binges~

The coroner is going to have fun deciding what got me!

And no snail mail, Patty– I even went through all my mail I had thrown in the back seat of my car to make sure it was not just thrown–

But you look at your snail mail in a few days~ πŸ˜‰

BTW– I did keep your address— (I never forget good people)

Max– that Greg sure is funny– I never watch him every night but he sure cracks me up when I do– Hemmer was cool!

KC– I am going to miss you this week-end— as you trip the light fantastic with the juke box tonight! LOL

And Obama finally used the word “terroism” while in Germany~

  78. And to Adam—

thanks for saying hi to me when you do as well as you do with the others here—

It is way cool you take the time to notice!

    gracias, amigo—

  79. Sylvia—

reference to your hands getting dirty– It was more meant as to you ever doing anything wrong–

It was more of a compliment– as I admire your discipline and maybe I am a bit envious– so forgive me~

And your husband has probably save more lives in the emergency room as a doctor as I could do with animals.

  80. oops– probably saved—

  81. @LDG—

    Hope you are well—

  82. @LDG—

And let me know if Maggi sent you a “thank you.”

  83. ‘morning All!!

This was in my email this morning…
    I can’t resist posting it…
Cracked me up!!! might want to look the other way for a moment! πŸ˜‰

    1. Open a new file in your computer.
    2. Name it ‘Barack Obama’.
    3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.
    4. Empty the Recycle Bin.
    5. Your PC will ask you: ‘Do you really want to get rid of ‘Barack Obama?’
    6. Firmly Click ‘Yes.’

    Feel better?

GOOD! – Tomorrow we’ll do Nancy Pelosi!

  84. doggiesallover Says:

Spoiler alert! Lib on the blog, πŸ™‚
    Good morning, everyone.
But for a pineapple rightside up cake, wouldn’t the sticky stuff have to be baked downside up?
Sylvia, I’m hoping that was a rhetorical question. If not, I’m going to have to worry about you.
Patty, my hubby asks those same questions, but he asks them when I’m dusting…don’t know if that says a lot about him or me.
    John, LOL
Going to lunch w/a friend today. She and I disagree on everything, so we get together to debate. (Ya’ll would like her, LOL) It does our souls good.
BBL-ya’ll be careful and have a good day. Do something just for funsies.

  85. doggiesallover Says:

…and the best way to get me to read something is to tell me not to. Just sayin’… πŸ˜‰
And don’t EVER put a sign on a trail saying “Go this way > ”
*Ya’ll make me laugh at myself*

  86. Good Morning Ya’ll,
Cheryl is contagious…..I’ve caught her drawl.
I wonder if liberalism is also contagious. LOL
    Have fun today.

  87. Patty,
Can you send that funny e-mail to me so I can send it on to my friends who would enjoy deleting a few politicians?

  88. Thank you Patty.

  89. cheryljones Says:

‘Ya’ll’ just makes so much sense in so many ways! Glad to have you as a convert.
Abd…you MADE me say this, so it’s all your fault:
    Liberalism is not the contagion.
    It’s the CURE! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Listen to my voice, and focus on the blog. You are getting sleepy. You are in a place of peace. You will awake and remember everything. You do NOT want that email. Repeat after me…Idonotwanthatemail, Idonotwant

  90. Cheryl,
Too late…I already got it and forward it!!!

  91. cheryljones Says:

Well, Sylvia, you’ll just have to atone in the next life. LOL
I can just hope all your ‘forwardees’ delete, delete, delete.
*Sigh* Not going to happen, is it?

  92. Cheryl,
I think that e-mail will “make their day”.

  93. Careful Cheryl, we’ll send Susan’s “door knockers” to yours!!!

  94. oh dang, i can’t believe i just threatened to share susan’s knockers!!!
    oops, sorry susan! πŸ™‚

  95. So windy here. Not even pleasant outside when its like this. All my morning watering done, bird baths cleaned. Had hoped to wash off the porch furniture, but am afraid i’ll end up at the neighbors!

Adam…I asked on FB, but you may not see it. What is a “wine auction”? besides the obvious!

  96. Adam,
I think Patty is in BIG trouble. That ooops may require standing in the corner!

  97. Sylvia, I live in a corner! πŸ˜‰

Adam, i’m going to drag your link over here from FB. Its awesome!
    Hope you dont mind.

    Arik is Adam’s brother.

  98. Patty,
Thanks for sharing that link. That was a great story.
Niceness must run in the Housley genes.

  99. @Patty–

love your get rid of Obama and Pelosi– LOL

YOUR pineapple upside down cake is my cake right now without the pineapple— grrr! I had to buy a cake– this didn’t work out as I envisioned!!! to boot, the mess is absurd– my kitchen has little counter space so there is batter all over the frigging place– πŸ˜€ Max- get over here and help me clean this up~~~ I am doing your favorite– steak– (meat)

    πŸ˜€ to door knockers–

    Have a great week-end!!!

  100. doggies—

WHEN way younger, centuries ago, I worked at Underwoods BBQ Cafeteria in Arlington, Texas–

My younger brother went to school in Austin and we use to drive from Mexico City to Illinois every year to visit the relatives and that drive through Texas was the loooooooooooongest drive!!! LOL Does the state ever end? πŸ™„

  101. cheryljones Says:

Didn’t you see the requisite post card in every tourist trap along the way?
    The sun is riz
    The sun is set
    And here I is
    In Texas yet!!!

  102. cheryljones Says:

Centuries ago…hmmm…maybe it just seemed longer, being in a Conestoga wagon, and all?

  103. Cheryl is our blog poetress.
BTW….I must have missed that post card.

  104. cheryljones Says:

I know you’ve been to Dallas-they didn’t have those there? I thought it was a law. We’ll have to call the postcard czar.
Maybe you should have gone to Fort Worth…we’ll have to see if Adam found one in Corpus Christi.
    BTW-we need photos! (Nag, nag)

  105. Jen S used to be our poet.
    I miss her

  106. I”ve driven to the panhandle of TX. But no where else that I can remember. Probably did as a kid, but that doesnt mean anything.
The 1st time i ever flew was through D/FW. Was also the first time I had ever seen “moving sidewalks”! *L*
Was so glad my bro was there to help me find the next plane, I would have never made it.

  107. Patty,
    Where is Jen?
    Where is K2?
    Where is Florida?

  108. Jen started her own blog, that keeps her busy i guess.
K2…not sure. They did start that (i cant think of the name of it).
Fl is hanging around FB once in a while. I’ll bet she reads, just doesnt stop to post too often.

  109. cheryljones Says:

D/FW is enough to make you swear off flying. (Actually, I exaggerate. It will only make you swear off landing.) Now IAH (George HW Bush International) in Houston is set up really well.
    Ya’ll come back now, y’hear?

  110. Good Morning All (or Ya’ll),
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Cheryl… addition to visiting Dallas a couple of times we had to change planes there once. I remember it being a very busy airport. The worst is Atlanta. I try to avoid that airport if possible. Chicago O’Hare was also a nightmare years ago when we flew there or through there. But Atlanta takes the prize for difficult.
Easiest airport to navagate is Salt Lake City.

  111. I think this blog is now giving me a southern (Texas) drawl.

Are there any New Yorkers here who can balance the drawl with a Brooklyn accent?

I wonder what a Brooklyn accent combined with a southern drawl would sound like.

  112. cheryljones Says:

I’m not sure anyone will ever know. I think the 2 are mutually exclusive.
I’m thinking about you this morning, because I was laughing over the postcard verse, and it reminded me of the Burma Shave signs. Oh, Max, you should have seen them…every highway in America, and each one unique.

    If U Don’t Know
    Whose Signs These Are
    U Can’t Have
    Driven Very Far
    Burma Shave

Now THAT was entertainment! What a stroll down Memory Lane this morning.

  113. Cheryl,
I remember those. We are giving our ages away!!!

  114. cheryljones Says:

Dang, Sylvia, you’re right! We should be selling them!
Mr President, can I have a bailout, please?

  115. doggies is a true lib….has her hand out and waiting!

*BEG* (thats a big evil grin)

    ‘morning All!!

  116. I dont remember the Burma signs, but we have similar ones out west of town. They had something to do with Country Magazine’s promotion.
I drive by them everyday, dont even know what they say!

  117. Patty,
You are still young if you don’t remember Burma signs.

  118. I loved the Burma Shave signs. There are still some out there, I saw them either last year moving Pat to Vegas or this year moving her back.

I agree that the Atlanta airport is a mess. The most unusual I have been to is in Kona, Hawaii. It is Tiki huts strung together, very cool.

As for Texas, I spent a week there one day driving across the state. It was back in the 60’s so I don’t think there was a lot of freeway, I was just a kid, but I remember it took forever.

Hope every one has a great Sunday!

  119. Barb,
Haven’t been to Kona since 76…’s still Tiki huts?????
We go to Maui which is a nice airport.

  120. cheryljones Says:

    I B.E.G. to differ, LOL!
Read those signs, girl! My curiosity is killing me!
Never been to Hawaii, have heard horror stories about Hotlanta airport.
Isn’t it funny how you feel like you’re making so much more progress when you can pass the “Welcome To ________ state signs?!
    LOL-500 miles is 500 miles!

  121. Cheryl,
If you don’t hate flying prior to “visiting” Atlanta airport, you will after that. It is a mess. Heaven forbid you have to change planes in Atlanta. Make sure you have on running shoes and carry a gps gadget with you.

  122. cheryljones Says:

Oh, yuck, Sylvia. That doesn’t sound like fun at all.
And that reminds me. We’ll be gone from 10-13 to see new g’baby, and I probably won’t be blogging, so don’t pay the ransom. They’ll pay you to take me back.
(That’s for Patty, who wouldn’t believe anything different,) LOL, Patty. 4 days of pure bliss, conservative-style. Whatever that might be. Personally, I think it’s an urban legend. Have to check Snopes.

  123. Cheryl,
Michelle and Yorkie Jasmine are flying in Tuesday. Her in-laws and Quincy are driving up from Florida (by way of Fayetteville, NC) on Thursday. Our son-in-law Michael is flying in Saturday. Everyone leaves next Tuesday.
I’ll probably have a lot less time to blog while everyone is in town.
    BTW…..the ransom comment was funny.

  124. Max Kon Says:

Oops, I forgot to check the blog yesterday…

    Susan: What style of steak?

Doggies: I have never even heard of Burma Shave. Do they still exist?

I love flying. Our experience in ATL wasn’t so bad, we went to the meeting area and couldn’t see our hostess. So we asked if we in the right area and they told us to go back to the AA building. And just as we got there our hostess walked through the door.

  125. Forgot to mention…old Yorkie Quincy had a good day yesterday. Let’s hope he stays well while here. I worry about my granddogs as well as my family. That’s the “Mother” in me….worry, worry.

  126. Max,
Regarding Atlanta…consider yourself lucky. I know flight attendents who hate Atlanta airport.

  127. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: It was very lucky. We didn’t have the cell # of the hostess and my mother had forgot to arrange where to meet her. We rang the home but it wasn’t being answered.
A sign of providence I guess.

I much prefer the small airports, some are very quaint πŸ™‚

  128. oh gawd cheryl, please, please tell me they dont let lib’s procreate????

    *giggling madly*

  129. Seriously Cheryl, I hope you truly know that I’m just mess’in with you. I would never be that rude to someone (most of the time).
It’s fun to have a newbie to pick on that dishes it out just as well.
If I’m ever really serious, you WILL know it! πŸ™‚

  130. Max Kon Says:

Patty: Will she know when the pickup turns into her drive? πŸ˜›

  131. Congrats on the new g’baby, arent they wonderful!!!
    Our grandbaby just turned 1.

Oh, I have a the coolest pic of him, gotta go find it.

Sylvia, glad the dog is good!

*writing sticky note to read the lil signs on the way home from work tomorrow*

Ive been in Atlanta’s airport, dont know that it was difficult only cause someone was there to pick me up. We did take all the kids all out there just to people watch and ride that rail thingy that goes around the city.

IMO, Kansas City International is the easiest!! 3 concorses(sp?) each 3/4 of a circle, simply marked, easy to park very close to every front door. We have never had trouble picking up or taking anyone there. ‘cept one time I forgot which airline they were on! *LOL*

  132. Max…*LMAO*

  133. Max Kon Says:

Patty: Natrona International is easier than that. Only one concourse πŸ˜›
It’s only an international airport because they have occasional flights to Calgary. πŸ˜€
Laramie was even easier, but that’s just a regional one. The woman who checked in our bags was also the one on the runway directing the plane!

  134. Picture Stevie Wonder, rock’in back at forth at the piano…..
thats the first image I see when I see this! *LOL*

    Kalem is such a hoot!

  135. Sylvia, I have heard that the Philly airport is horrible too, I have only been there a couple of times and they were not to bad.

I am going out of town at the end of the week and will be gone for a week, we are headed to do the family thing in Il. We do have computer access, so will be able to keep in touch, just not as often. I will probably spend the week playing with the Wii. Our niece just got one and has the Wii Fit so I will be working out and if I like it I will get one of my own.

Max.. that sounds about right for a small airport, they do everything. Most days I was glad that I worked at a large airport and only did one thing, but there were days that it would have been nice to have the variety of doing several things.

  136. Max,
The commuter plane part of Salt Lake City Airport (where Sky West flies) has agents who multi-task. I think smaller airlines are that way all over the US.
Barb would know more about airports than I would. I just know from my experience flying. Barb has worked for an airline.

  137. Gosh…I mention Barb’s name and she appears!!!!

  138. Is everyone going away this week and I’m the only one staying in town hosting family?

  139. Barb,
You’re not close to Fayetteville, are you?

  140. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: I’m not going anywhere as of yet. Though my dad likes booking last minute, so you never know when he might say we should have a vacation πŸ˜›

Barb: The multitasking sounds most fun, and the lack of passengers gives you plenty of down time.

  141. Max,
I need time to get ready for a trip. I pack more than you do! Guys don’t need much to travel.

  142. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: I prefer time too. I find it hard to plan my activities. Oh well. Won;t be here too much longer.

  143. I’ll be at home Sylvia, “slaving” away at work as always.

  144. The last job I had at the airline was on the air to ground radio. So all day when the crews called in I answered and took down the info and entered it into the computer. It was a totally reactionary job, I did nothing till they called me. As the flights take off and land all together there was lots of down time. I got a lot of reading done, now they have internet access up there, wish they had that when I was there. πŸ™‚

  145. Max Kon Says:

Barb: sounds like a nice job, I do that all day anyways, would be nice to get paid for it πŸ˜€

  146. Doggies—

let me tell you about centuries ago– remember if you were around when the Rio Grande flooded and no one could get across? Must have been in the 60’s– we were on our way to Illinois and my dad made it across– we were the first to make it across and hit the news! LOL

I also spent a week in Houston back in my hippie days– πŸ˜€

    Texas is a great state~

My worse nightmare story at an airport was in Seattle when they lost Ken there– I ran through more security lines with security chasing me– It was the most awful experience— Never, ever will I forge the fear I experienced and now I know how a parent feels when a child gets lost– Mine had a happy ending as Ken was found in a office–about an hour later… I have to use a wheel chair when at an airport as the walk is too much for him and I had asked one of the employees to watch him as I went to find my brother and when I came back to get Ken, he was gone– I totally freaked!!! (Imagine that!!!!)

Patty and those with children and grandchildren– I saw an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT movie yesterday- UP in 3 D– It was one of the best movies I have seen– for all the messages in the movie– Patty, make sure your kleenex box is full!!!! You will cry and cry throughout the movie– I can’t wait for it to come out in DVD as it will make great kid gifts– and I will keep one for moi–

Yesterday was a great day~ Frank had a nice birthday~

  147. Susan you are the 3rd that has watched that movie that has told me about this weekend.

  148. Sunshine has a second job so she has been very busy– hence, her not posting– And her family keeps her going– she is very active-

Max– steak– New York– bought these at Safeway– I like their meats there– nice big ones~ I bought Frank an extra one so he could take home– he likes meat and his wife is a vegetarian so they have two different styles for eating- He also took his cake home as well as some other foods I made– He is such a good guy– 33 years old– feels weird to hang out with someone who is my kid’s age but is more like a very good friend– He picked the movie out and he too got choked up! πŸ˜€

  149. Patty–

you need to see it– when your grandchildren are around- you will love it!

  150. and bring your husband– πŸ˜€

  151. Becky and I went to see UP last week and it was great. I want to take Steve and see it in 3-D this time. Very very good.

  152. Max Kon Says:

Susan: Yeah, and i’m 13 years younger than him, so prepare to feel weird πŸ˜›

Yes, Sunshine isn’t on the computer so much when her family are around, and now it’s summer, so…

    What is UP about?

  153. severe weather once again in NE KS.
    Tis the season!

  154. Patty,
I hope the skies are calm and friendly on Tuesday. That is travel day for nervous flyer Michelle.
We are suppose to get storms Monday night. Hopefully they will all be gone by Tuesday.

  155. I hope so too Sylvia.

btw, no storms here. Patty is safe. for now.
Didnt know what you’d see on the weather, sounds like what went by here, is doing some damage in MO.
    ‘nite all!

  156. Good Morning.
    Anyone awake yet?

  157. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: Yes, I’m awake! want some coffee? *poors you a cup*

  158. Hi Max,
Having coffee and reading the paper.
    How are you today?

  159. ‘morning everyone.

    Patty needs more sleep. ugh

  160. Patty,
Can you sleep on the job? LOL

  161. Sylvia, with 12+ guys around, only with one eye open!!!

  162. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Good morning everyone
Boy the weekend sure flew by fast as ususal. Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. I see a lot of you are going somewhere for awhile or receiving company for awhile. It is the fun time of the year.

  163. Hi KC,
This is a fun time…no snow or ice. Having company is also fun but exhausting.

  164. Under my name, the size of hail at my boss’s place lastnight.
Our ground was covered white, but very few pieces were more than marble. So much for the flowers, glad i took some pics yesterday before the storms.
Not sure on crop damage, probably yet to be seen.
30 miles west, I heard reports of the hail going through the vinyl house siding. Not sure if its true. Somewhere in MO reported grapefruit size…I hope to God I never see that!!

Susan, I think I mailed that envelope on Weds (?) I would guess it should be there today. Its not like there is 100k or anything! Dont break something going to get it.

Adam, whats up for your stories this week? Anything exciting?

  165. I hope we don’t get that hail. Larry has been planting alot of flowers. Hate to see them ruined.

  166. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Wow – that is some hail. Is this something freaky or is this your normal June weather???
I think we are done with our freak thunderstorms – we are back in the high 80’s. Our garden is going crazy and very happy. Have tons of tomatoes, but they are still green. The hot peppers and strawberries, and radishes need to be picked every day. Waiting for the bell peppers to get big enough to pick.

Yep, we had another great weekend and did get quite a bit of dancing in. Getting the urge to head to the beach soon, but with our house next door in escrow, we need to be here for all that crap that needs to be signed, inspected, appraised, etc. etc. etc.. Think when that is done and over, will head for the beach for 7 to 10 days. It will be well deserved – lol

I keep forgetting to tell you – We played those lottery numbers you posted on the other blog and won $8.00. Not bad – we made a $7.00 profit!!!! Thanks. Of course, we gave it all back – lol

It is almost time for your move to Wyoming. Are you getting excited??? Are you going to be living on campus or off?? Since you live so far away, is everything going to come furnished or do you have to buy everything needed after your arrival???

I see your grandkids are coming for a visit again. Are they all going to stay for awhile or is it a short trip??

  167. KC,
Michelle and yorkie Jasmine will be here for a week. Michael (son-in-law) will just be here 3 days due to work. Michael’s parents will be in town (at a hotel) for 5 days and yorkie Quincy will stay at our house.
We have a lot of stuff planned. I will be making many trips to Kroger’s and Costco and fruit market.
BTW…your gardens are doing so well. The only things we have eaten so far are radishes, sugar snap peas, and chives. The tomatoes plants only have flowers. The peppers are slow also.

  168. KC, this is very typical KS weather. This year has been really quiet compared to most. (so far)

I was going to see if the little tomato plants were still there when I go home at noon to feed the “baby”. But, My boss has disappeared and I can’t leave until he comes back. Baby is going to be pissed off! *L*

Usually one good thing about storms like that, a cold front follows. It is chilly today!! After 2 days of heat and humidity, now its like 0 % and mid 60’s. Love it!!

  169. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Sounds like you are gonna have a house full, but sounds like lots of fun.

Actually we are both shocked as to how fast our veggies and herbs are growing. We did not plant until mid April which was late, but I think those few weeks of triple digits we had maybe gave them a boost.

Our roma tomatoes have just gone crazy and they are everywhere in bunches. Never seen anything like it. As to our celebrate (sp) and beef steak tomatoes, we have mostly flowers on those. There is one tomato of each type on those plants so they are growing way slower.

  170. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

When do you have spring???? How do you figure out what to wear every day with your temps playing yo-yo.

I must agree – mid 60″s are great. I would much rather put on clothes (layers), then be hot and sticky. I do not “glow” well at all.

  171. KC, I dont “glow” gracefully!

Our last freeze is avg mid-late april. Easter is usually cold enough for a coat yet.
Our a/c is usually on full time by late may. So far, this year has been nice on the electric bills.
Its been really odd around here. We had spring like weather in Feb, then froze in Mar. Now its more like spring than I’ve seen in along time. Nothing is growing very well, even the field crops. Our nights have stayed cool, plants just arent interested when they aren’t “hot”!
Those cold nights play hell on the wheat. It needs hot and lots of it to turn by early july. And our alfalfa has hit a “stall”. Beware when the midwest doesnt have bumper wheat/corn….you’ll see it in the grocery store! Although anymore, how do you know?

Oh, and I always have a sweatshirt in the van along with lawn chairs. Never know when you might drive through town and want to chit chat with someone, so you “pull up a chair”!!! πŸ™‚

  172. We have been getting prices on taking out our dying crab apple trees in the back yard and replacing them with October Glory Maples (yellow/orange variety). It is amazing how expensive nature can be!
It seems our crab apples got a fungus due to last summer’s draught. Anyway, we got 2 bids and are waiting for 1 more. We love the privacy and beauty trees provide.

  173. Sylvia, we just took out a huge black locust. Good thing we did, it was rotted all the way down the middle of the trunk. So glad we did before it took all the power lines with it.

  174. Oh that reminds me.
We have a very old pic of our house, Pats oldest bro in on a riding toy in the yard. He’s like 65 yrs old now. Pat was always afraid I was going to loose our copy of that pic. The concept of burned to a disk “forever” doesnt really sink in with him. So, I”ve been trying to find something “unique” to do with it.
When I was going through pics on the computer I came across all the pics of the house being redone last summer, and the porch construction.
    Sooo I went to
They do a “book”, a hard back book with printed pages. You put the 20 or so pics where you want them and can add captions, the works!
the cover of the book is the pic of the very old house that says “There’s no place like home”
It turned out so totally awesome!!!
If you ever need a gift of some sort, this was way above my expectations.

  175. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: Oops, I forgot to come back.

    KC: Awesome. 11, 13, 15, 27, 36 and 42

I will be on campus. I will have to buy some of what I need when I get there, others the room mate might bring. The room already has some things, like bed, desk, etc.

I’m very excited, in 73 days time I will be sitting in Minneapolis St-Paul eatting something, or inside the ‘fox news’ store πŸ™‚

  176. Food and Fox Max, glad you’ve got your priorities in order!

  177. My dear Patty—

totally awesome what you sent– I JUST LOVE IT!!!!! Of course it is proudly on the refrigerator along with my other magnets– THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH—

What is soooooooooooo weird is what I sent you is symbolic of someone you love very much— and what you sent me is symbolic of your cause–and part of my hobby of collecting magnets-

Patty sent me a magnet which looks like a license– Kansas and it has DN8 LIFE- APR- BE AN ORGAN, EYE & TISSUE DONOR 09–

Danielle is coming over Sunday to bring me her magnets she picked up while in Washington and Vancouver and she is totally going to love the magnet you sent, Patty–

I did some much frigging driving today– I had to take my dog into the vet this morning– left here at 8:00 to be there by 9:00 since he is in Phoenix– She has an infection or abscess in her mouth– so I had to leave her there so he could check her out as he was way busy– then pick her up again– more driving– she is on antibiotics and scheduled for an extraction at the end of the month– It never ends!

I had no clue she had this– it was Frank who found the abscess when he fed her some of his steak, he noticed a bit of blood in her mouth so we opened up her mouth and I saw the sore– it is way in the back– so I started giving her some of my Keflex and lo behold, I came back with doggie Keflex–

What was so dang cute is when we came back without her, my two meows greeted me at the door and then sat there waiting for her to walk in– ahhh and ahhh!!!

Max— give me four numbers– they have the Pick 4 which if I get the numbers, I win ten grand of which I would share half of it with you– I promise– This Powerball thing is not working for me– I play and play and nada!

KC– Do your feet hurt after all that dancing? πŸ˜€

We are having some better weather– 90’s instead of that three digit thing!

And those journalists in North Korea– 12 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure hope someone jumps on the bandwagon and gets these two beautiful women released—

Acapulco had a major drug shoot out–

    The bad news never ends—————

I watched two hours of the Alfred Hitchcock hour last night–side by side- I totally refused to watch the news–

and Max– can’t wait for you to be here in the USA– xxx

  178. Patty–

the second picture under your name– looks like a blue boob! πŸ˜€

  179. I am glad someone is able to grow something besides brown grass!!!!

  180. Max Kon Says:

Patty: I have a 5 hour wait, so I want to eat when i get in there, and once again before the flight. And they have 2 fox news stores for me to look at!

    Susan: I can’t wait either.
You mean it looks like one of these? I don’t see the similarity πŸ˜‰

PS it’s not a rude photo!

  181. bahahaha, funny max!!!!!

Susan… you are more than welcome. It told me it was yours the other day πŸ™‚

  182. Max Kon Says:

Did you know spanish sailors used to like to eat boobies?

I’m sorry, I read about them because I thought it was funny πŸ˜€

  183. nahhh, i’ll leave that one alone πŸ™‚

  184. Smart decision Patty

  185. sylvia….its difficult to be in 2 corners at the same time!

    Rest well good friends!!

  186. Dear Patty–

Actually I was not going to say more but your snail mail brought more than a great heart….. I also got a check from the property and as you know on months ago here on another thread here on Adam’s, I waived my percentage of this so my brothers could have some extra income as they were starting their business on Bainbridge Island, WA- after their jobs were gone from the economy downfall.

Well, I did need the money this time as my visit to the vets was almost $200.00 and my dog’s mouth, including the cleaning I want done, is almost $400.00…

I just had my brakes done and my Perio mouth surgery so I was like tight for money. (plus bills, plus this and plus that…)

So I looked up at the skies today on my way to the mailbox, and said, dear anyone up there, if this is the time I need money, please send it.

When I opened up the mailbox, there were ONLY 2 things in it– your awesome magnet and a check from the property which my brother sent to me.. After conversion from pesos to dollars, the check was for $684.00.

Now you telll me what happened here?

I have known you for almost two years on this screen- and we exchanged a few conversations on the phone and mail presents, but I can honestly say, you are a good friend, as well as a few here ( some not posting)because you have ignored my bullshit, maybe shook your head a few times, read my posts with disdain, but you continue to be my friend–

And I thank you, from the bottom of my heart—

Your wand hit the mailbox today~

and this goes to a few of you too, as well– (Adam is totally excluded!)

  187. And Patty, if I should ever met you in real, one thing we can skip is the chara, and just be who we are~ no need for you or me to impress, for we are who we are~

    Thank you again–

  188. Max Kon Says:

It’s because the birds would land on the ship decks, so the sailors could run up and hit them with clubs. Which is why they called them the Spanish for ‘Stupid’.

  189. Max…fyi…these guys went by our place the other night. Today, they are in Topeka, about 70 miles.

  190. Patty,
Is there severe weather due this afternoon around southern Kansas? A certain plane carrying 2 VIPs take that route.

  191. ‘morning everyone.

Susan… ya, what you said πŸ™‚
It is amazing, when we think there is no way (for whatever) and poof…….it happens. Since Kat died, I no longer believe in coincidences.
No matter wether you believe in “God” or not, there are definitely “higher powers” at work in our lives.

  192. Sylvia…yep. Weather is setting up to be interesting later today. Can “feel” it in the air this morning. But maybe thats just a weather junkie waiting for a fix! *L*

  193. Crap…Larry just checked the weather and it looks like a bumpy flight day. He said the good news is the jet stream is strong going east and it should make the plane go faster. However if it has to deviate north or south to avoid the real bad stuff it won’t make the flight shorter.
    Worry time……more than usual!

  194. oh I totally forgot about your traveler’s today Sylvia!
When I read VIP…ah forget it…you dont want to know what i was thinking! *L*
I really should wake up before I sit at the puter!

  195. Patty,
Michelle and Jasmine are VIPs, not the Obama’s….if that’s what you were thinking!!!!

  196. yep, thats what i thought! Silly me!
Downpouring here. Skies are green, but no hail (yet). No tornadic threat in this morning’s storms. Not sure where she flies across Sylvia, but for KS, no severe weather until later today, after 3-4 pm. It will be primarily in the SE corner of the state.

  197. Did any of you see Newt’s speech lastnight? We saw it on CSPAN? Dont know where he was or what.
What a speaker! I dont understand how any one leaning left, can possibly find fault in what he said. Actually, would like to try to understand what it is they dont like about his thoughts. He really laid in on the line, calling everyone out! It was awesome!

  198. Patty, I agree…Newt is very bright and tells it like it is.
The weather has completely screwed up the flight schedules. The flight that Michelle is suppose to take home originated in LaGuardia then to Cincy then to Phoenix for the return flight to Cincy. The weather was bad up east and the flight got into Cincy 2 hours late. That means it won’t get into Phoenix on time….2 hours late, which puts the return flight late. If they don’t add a different airplane to do the Phoenix-Cincy, then that means she will arrive 2 hours late here. Am not a happy camper. The people who are trying to get on the Europe flights from Phoenix via Cincy will be out of luck. We have several non stops to Europe and a lot of people connect through Cincy.

  199. Definitely not easy to plan around mother nature. One thing for sure, she will always win!

  200. Max Kon Says:

Patty: I saw part of a program on discovery about that tank/car a while ago. Looked kinda fun.

  201. Sylvia, hows the travelers coming?

  202. Patty,
They are awaiting takeoff….I don’t know how they got that plane unloaded and reloaded so fast because they are only about 25 minutes late. They think they will make up for the lateness with the jet stream and could even get in on time. They were able to do a complete turnaround in less than 1/2 hour. Michelle called from the gate and said they were going to get in just 15 minutes late and now the flight site shows on time. I will keep checking on the computer. Nervous, excited mom….could you tell???
BTW…Michelle sounded really calm…..must be that pill for flying!

  203. Patty,
Plane took off couple of minutes ago. As KC would say “Yippee”.

  204. Xanax is good for many things! *LOL*
Glad to hear they are on thier way.

Look the other way a minute….

Western KS has tennis ball size hail. and there are reports of rain wrapped T’s out there.

  205. Patty,
The flight route is very south of the normal. They are avoiding Kansas and Missouri and instead doing Oklahoma to Arkansas to Kentucky. I’ve never seen them do that route before.

  206. πŸ™‚
    smart pilots sylvia.

  207. Patty,
They have 50-60mph tail winds and that is cutting 1/2 hour or more off the flight time.

  208. doggiesallover Says:

Good morning. Not long to stay, unfortunately, but wanted to make sure Patty knows I’m still here. Hehe. Knew that would make her day.
I’ve just had time to read back a little, and Patty, I didn’t get a chance to watch Newt’s speech. Sorry. if I had, I’d have given you my critique. And if I thought it was a good one, I’d sure give him credit for it. My problem w/him is in his past. He’s been busy re-inventing himself.
Would like to ask for prayers for my hubby. His PSA was high. Went in yesterday for a prostate biopsy. And we wait. I remember that so well from 3 years ago when I found out I had breast cancer.
    I’ll be back, I promise.
And Patty, did Sylvia send you the email from me? If not, get on her!

  209. Adam Housley Says:

Hey Guys….to answer Patty, I am working on acouple of stories this week. One with the FBI. Also, had a couple of days off and that new site launches tomorrow. I will post the link and info here. We WILL keep this site as a break out location. Makes sense to me.

  210. doggiesallover Says:

I posted the above earlier today, but put a space where a space had ever gone before.
Adam, no need to un-moderate it.
Just too much on my mind. Once again, I apologize.

  211. TEST!!! I have posted several times and they have not gone thru, so am trying again with this… maybe this will work. I took out the website address from my name.

  212. Success!!

Wish I could remember what I had written earlier. πŸ™‚

  213. Hi All,
My 2 girls are home. Delta got them here at unbelievable speed. They departed late and got in early. I think they broke the sound barrier.

  214. Cheryl,
I hope your hubby is OK and that you stay healthy too.

  215. ttp://

It is not accepting my posts if I post this link in the website box…. Oh well here it is minus the h.

They are of the daylillies, roses and camellia’s that were blooming Saturday in the back yard.

Sylvia…am glad that all have arrived safely. Now the fun begins πŸ™‚

Patty… glad that they storms are not in your area.

  216. Barb,
It really is nice to have them home. I miss them so much when they are in Phoenix.

  217. Good Morning All (Ya’ll).
Suppose to get storms here today. So far nothing severe is heading this way.

  218. Sylvia: That’s what kept happening when I was flying in America, departing late, and arriving early.

  219. ‘morning everyone.

Sylvia, glad the “crew” is safe and sound.

    Barb….awesome flower pics!

  220. Lets see if I have trouble with a link like Barb did.

I took the camera out Sunday afternoon, ….then, there was hail!
Glad I went out when I did!

  221. Your flower pictures are beautiful. I’ll have to take some pictures when Larry’s gardening gets further along….and if the bunnies and deer stop eating everything. The bunnies are breaking off the sugar snap pea stems and eating patunias. The deer ruined rose bushes and trampled on other flowers. Between the deer outside the pool fence and the bunnies inside the fence and everywhere else it’s been a real challenge for Larry.

  222. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your hubby. Keep us posted on his tests.

Glad the VIP’s arrived safe and sound. Another one of the many reasons we do not fly!!!

Hope your weather will be “nice” for you the rest of the week. Has your weather ruined your tomatoes???

Thanks for keeping this blog for us to yak at each other. Anxious to see your new fox news blog. Is it going to have INSTANT POSTING????

Oh Yeh – Good morning everyone

  223. Max Kon Says:

Bunnies and dear reminded me, I want to try jackalope burgers. Although it’s a mythical creature, if you mixed ground antalope and rabbit then it’d taste like one would. πŸ™‚

  224. oh oh, i didnt see Adams post!

    TODAY??? !!!

  225. Cute Max.
If you havent had venison, you will like it.
Im not fond of most wild game, but deer jerky is the BEST! Its pretty much a staple around our office in the winter. All these guys try to out do each other’s recipes, so there is lots of taste testing going on!

Speaking of game….buffalo burgers, anyone had them?
Used to be alittle place here that served them, I worked there in upper grade school days. LOVED the burgers! Now there is no one around with them close by.

  226. I tried venison once. Kept thinking of Bambi.
    Never had buffalo.

  227. Max Kon Says:

I’ve had venison here, not sure if it was all that fresh though…
I had buffalo bratwurst in Cheyenne, quite nice.

  228. I don’t do any kind of wurst.
Tonight will be chicken marinated in lemon juice, chili sauce, dijon mustard, basil, and parsley.

  229. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: No sausages of any kind?

  230. that chicken sounds good!

  231. Adam Housley Says:

OK…while I wait for the launch of the new site, I have added a new thread/post. Hadn’t put up a sports one yet, so now it is! Feel free to add anything you want and any sports conversation, or other.
