Gotta Love Spring Training!

The energy and excitement for me is still there, 10 years removed from a time in my life I still and always will cherish. As I interviewed Joe Torre in Glendale Arizona about all the changes he’s seen in spring training over the years, Luis Salazar stopped in. He was my minor league manager one year in the Midwest League and of course a long time major leaguer.

img_1377
Luis gave me a big hug and said in his accent, “adathms, we watch you guys Fox all ta time. We saw Venezuela and tried to get a hold of you in Caraca. It is bad, very bad.” Luis goes onto tell me that he and the other Venezuelan ball players (he mentioned a bunch more), all watch Fox News because of our Venezuela coverage and most of the guys and their families only return home for a couple of days a year because Chavez and his people quietly threaten them.
He told me in this recent election, his brother and family had their votes changed, challenged the vote taker and were then threatened with arrest. They also saw soldiers with boxes of ballots, filling them out en masse.
It was a very intersting conversation to say the least and there was a ton more he told me. Also interesting because Spanish is still their first language and yet they have become Fox fans.

  1. Interesting. Where were the international election monitors?

Hope you have fun with Susan.

  2. I have to agree that Spring Training is the best. Our trip to Florida had to be postponed till this month and so Steve and I will get to go to a game. Can’t wait! I am not sure what the draw is, maybe the warm weather for a change, or the intimacy of the small ball parks, what ever it is I love that time. Or it could be that as a Tiger fan that was the only time of the year, for a lot of years, that there was hope. We were always out of the running for the World Series by the second week of the season. LOL!

Adam I hope that you are having a ball, and that you get to see Susan again.

  3. We went to spring training once and loved it. The ball park was small and everything was informal.

Our former next door neighbor, Todd Benzinger, played major league baseball. We got to hang out with Todd and his family and meet the other players.

And as Barb said….hope springs eternal in spring training.

  4. I was hoping to see Susan in your live shot adam! πŸ™‚

  5. Hey Adam,
Just saw you on Shep’s show. You mentioned the Reds…thanks.

  6. Patty,
    You feeling better?

  7. Where was Susan, she should have been in the shots, even if just in the background.

  8. Susan…where are you? We didn’t see you on Adam’s live shot.

  9. Adam kept me on a leash!!! LOL!!!!

And yes, I did see him as well as Scott and Eric and I forget the other guy’s name– I rushed out of the house and I did not bring my camera so they took some pictures–

The guys Adam was with are way cool!!!!!!!!!!!! And it was hot today!!! We just got home a few minutes ago from running all over the place and I got to talk to Sgt– who his leaving tonight at midnight– He had a busy week so we definitely are planning to meet up next time– Sgt is a really nice guy and very cute to talk too as it was with Adam and his buds from Fox–

Adam- on the way out, I got to say hi to the Sox players– and wish them good luck–

I told Sgt if it weren’t for you, I would not know where half our stadiums are– this was a first for me– as I go to the Spring Training over here in Surprise–

and like always– it sure was cool to see you as you are soooooo down to earth!!!

    besos!!!!

  10. oh yeah– next time you are here– I DO want to take you all out to eat–

    xxx

  11. That is way to cool Susan. Were you in the background of any of the shots?

  12. BTW Patty–

I hope you are feeling better– I had to take Ken to the doctor today and we ended up with an inhaler and two prescriptions– I guess he was sick–

Ken was in the car when I went to see Adam– the security guard kept an eye on him for me– which was nice– it was a dirt path I went through to get to Adam and Ken would have taken two hours to walk it as he walks so slow– so I kept the window down and gave him a bottle of water– and the female security guard was nice enough to watch him as I wandered off to socialize–

What sucks is being so old when surrounded by a bunch of young good looking guys! πŸ˜€

  13. Barb–

they took shots of us– we were like in a dirt area– there was a lake behind us— they were parked in their news vehicle– I bet they were hot in that…

Adam has a nice tan— good looking guy! Scott is 40 and he looks like about 30– grrr!

    xxx

  14. and Adam–

I want to hang out with you guys when you do a story– πŸ˜€ You guys are so like real—

  15. Barb–

I also spent my time trying to give a cat away to these guys!!! It never hurts to ask!!

    Do you want a cat?

    xxxx

  16. No thanks, traveling 2500 miles in a car with 3 women and a cat is not what I want to do next month. LOL!! That and the dog would not like me bringing home a cat.

  17. lol— I got about the same answers too–

    Adam—

your story about Luis– ahhh!!! How sad– the cheating in the voting comes as no surprise= pobrecito Luis and all of them there– I would have loved to have met him and conversed en espaΓ±ol— maybe next year? πŸ˜€

And I thought everyone is a Fox fan!!! yay!!!!

nite to all– safe flying Adam and crew and Sgt–

    xxxx

  18. oh– and by the time I got to see Adam, he had taken off his jacket– and this is just the end of February– I did not even see winter here, if there is such a thing in Arizona!

  19. Susan: There are two types of people in this world: people who have watched Fox News and love it; and people who have never watched Fox News and dislike it. πŸ˜‰

  20. Susan,
Sounds like you lucked out and got to meet up with Adam and his crew.

  21. Susan,
I’m confused (not unusual for me)….was Sgt in Phoenix too?

  22. Barb,
That’s a long drive you have planned. It’s easier to fly. I hate driving trips.

  23. Sylvia… we are flying out to Las Vegas and moving our youngest daughter back to North Carolina. Should be a lot of fun!! Last year when we moved her out there we went thru the middle of the country, so this time we are going the southern route.

As a former airline employee I also love to fly, but once in a great while I want the road trip experience. To do all that we have planned on this trip you have to drive. This will be a great road trip and I will not want another for a long time.

  24. Sylvia-

yes- Sgt was in Phoenix too–

    Max– LOL

Barb– road trips are fun as long as there is scenery– πŸ˜€

  25. I’ve never been on a road trip *sigh*. One day.

  26. Susan…that is why we are taking 3 days in AZ and NM and 3 days for the rest of the trip to Carolina. That is fun that Sgt. was also there. Wish I had DVR’d them so I could look for you guys.

Max… kinda hard to take a road trip when you can go from Scotland to the Channel in a day and a half. Also once you are in Wyoming going to the store can be a road trip LOL… seriously you are still young and have a lifetime to road trip.

    Barb

  27. Barb: My family doesn’t even own a car.
I guess our trip around South Carolina could be considered a sort of road trip, but that wasn’t much driving. Most of the time was at the beach or the property of our hosts.

Probably go on one some summer while in college.

  28. oh wow, so much to catch up on!

Yes, Im feeling some better, thanks for asking.
We have 4 inches of new snow this morning, yuk!

Max, we go road trip’in here, and never leave the county πŸ˜‰
A good way to spend the afternoon, taking the back roads.

Susan…….. were you “shy” this time? or did you just run up and plant a big ole kiss on Adams cheek? *LOL*

  29. Adam, hope you’ve gotten some rest, you sure didnt get much the last couple of weeks. Where ya headed to this week? *L*

  30. Max – don’t feel bad, I had friends in high school ( pre-pharmaeutical school majors ) that took ‘trips’…………..and never left their basement.

Susan – Wow, that’s at least two times that you’ve gone and seen Adam isn’t it? No wonder Adam was partaking in massive quantities of adult beverages last week at Madri Gras before heading west.
Next time you see him you should bring a camcorder and reverse the situation on Adam and interview him…………………Just make sure you get his lie detecting laptop in the foreground.

And this just in………..While attending an NBA game last night in Washington DC to cheer on his beloved Chicago Bulls, President Obama was surprised by a reporter from the Georgian Free Press who asked the President what he would do if Russia were to invade Georgia again. After a few moments of deep thought he re-assured the reporter that he would have no second thoughts about sending troops into Atlanta.

  31. *LOL* john!!!

on a serious note, its sad to see that paul harvey died. Ive enojyed listening to him every day at noon for years and years. God Speed Paul…you are well deserved.

  32. I just saw John’s comments…..it’s a good thing I wasn’t holding my cup of coffee at the time.

    Patty,
I heard on the news last night that your governor will become head of HHS. I never realized that her father was once Ohio’s governor. Her maiden name is Gilligan.

  33. John
My father was a pharmacist…..but he didn’t “take trips”.

  34. ‘morning all. burrr, its cold again!

Sylvia, I knew she was from the north, didnt remember from where.
Her hubby is a fed judge.
Did I ever mention her son is the one that sells the “don’t drop the soap” game? Was a huge stir here, cause he was selling it out of the Gov’s mansion.

  35. warning..politics link! haha

under my name…many ties of ear marks to ob and his cronies, i mean cabinet.

  36. Our daughter will be leaving 85 degrees Phoenix this afternoon and will arrive in VERY cold Cincy this evening. She is in for a real shock.

  37. oh , i forgot about today being the day your daughter travels.
It should be “pretty” over KS. Fresh snow from yesterday, and lots of sunshine.

  38. Patty,
I will follow her trip on delta.com to see her heading our way. It will show exactly the route as it progresses and the altitude etc. I’m always excited to view it when she comes and sad to watch when she heads back.
BTW…We made our flight plans to Phoenix for the end of April-early May. Maybe I’ll be able to see Susan this trip.

  39. What is don’t drop the soap game?

  40. Sylvia, another fun website to track flights is flightaware .com. All you have to do is put in the airline and flight number and it tracks it. You can also pull up an airport and see all the air traffic there. I put a small town airport in and could see all the planes flying over that part of the state, it is really cool. Hope your daughter warms up quickly.

  41. not something you’d be very proud of.
    under my name

  42. Patty,
    That’s disgusting.

    Barb,
Don’t have time to check now…am off to Kroger’s. Will check later…thanks.

BTW……for all you plane watchers…Michelle (and Jasmine the Yorkie) will be on Delta…..will check the flight number when I get back from the grocery…am having a senior moment right now….can’t remember it!!!

  43. Max Kon Says:

It must be nice to fly over all that snow and see it sparkle.

  44. Barb: cool site. I had no idea Casper’s airport was an international one.

  45. Ive never seen that sight MAx, I’ve only flown in the summer months.
I would imagine it is very pretty too.

  46. Just got back from Kroger’s. Michelle called from the gate area while we were leaving the store and we talked (Larry drove…I don’t talk and drive). Her flight is boarding now and is due todepart at 1:30 AZ time….3:30 est. It is flight 1132….I will be watching it. She’s due to arrive at 7:00est.

  47. Can you tell I’m excited?????

  48. Sylvia: tell her to take photos of the snow from the air so you can show us!

  49. Max,
Michelle hates flying so she won’t be looking out the window.

  50. sylvia… πŸ™‚

  51. Sylvia: What a shame! I normally try to read a book on a plane, but if i have a window sear I never end up getting to the end of the 1st page because I get stuck looking out of the window.

  52. Max,
I like looking out the window but these days I try to get an aisle seat so I can stand up easier. I hate the center seat because I feel so boxed in.

  53. The flight finally took off. It will fly over Wichita. Guess that’s not far enough north for you Patty.

  54. Sylvia: On the way from Laramie to Denver all the seats were both an aisle and a window seat!

  55. Sylvia, just about 3 hrs south, on the opposite border.
Thats where my brother’s sister lives.

  56. Good Morning All,
Global freezing has hit Ohio and it is only going to reach the 20’s today. Michelle and Yorkie Jasmine had a rude re-introduction to winter. Jasmine is wearing a pink sweater that says “Princess” with rhinestones. That plus her natural fur coat weren’t enough for her to want to be outside very long. That dog has been making very quick pit stops and racing back into the house. Michelle is still under the blankets and comforter even though the sun has been shining for quite awhile. Of course her system is still on AZ time so I guess that makes a difference.
Today we are taking Jasmine to be groomed by the lady who breeds Yorkies. Her dog had a litter of 3 about a month ago and Michelle wants me to buy one. Larry is a dog lover but practical. He tells me all the reasons why not to get another dog. I know he is right but damn they are cute.
Got to get some things done here. Will check back as time permits.

  57. Actual ‘Letter to the Editor’ from the February 5th edition of the Wichita Falls, Texas Times Record News…

    Dear IRS,

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.

I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog licence tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting licence tax, fishing licence tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up
33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle licence registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can’t recall but I have run out of space and money.

When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.

P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

  58. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Good morning everyone and happy March
The calendar says spring is just around the corner, but with all of these snow storms some of you are having, makes one wonder.

LDG – Hope you are back home from your travels safe and sound

Susan – Sooooo glad you got to meet up with Adam again and also Derek. I love the IRS letter you posted above. So true isn’t it – LOL

Barb – be safe on your travels and have fun

Max – I can’t even imagine not having a car. Unless something unexpected comes up, I only drive my van 2 days a week, but I cannot imagine life without an automobile. Guess we are way tooooo spoiled. You will eventually make road trips and I am sure you will enjoy each and every one of them.

Patty – snow again!!!!! It is time to plant the tomatoes, etc. How you gonna do that in the snow???? Farmers Almanac says we are suspose to start planting on the 8th – so we will see. Last year we planted on the 16th, so plant shopping we gooooooo. All of our herbs, except basil, lasted thru the winter, so we just need to plant our veggies and the basil this year. Flower beds are ready to go. Can’t wait.

Sylvia – Hope you are enjoying time with your daughter and Jasmine. Are you planning anything exciting, or just going to enjoy each others company.

  59. ‘morning all.

    susan..funny!

    sylvia..enjoy!

    kc..ugh!
its miserable cold this morning but the forecast says 70 by Wednesday. amazing.
I’m not complaining after seeing the snow storm pics on the news this morning. I’m so glad that isn’t here!
March 17, St. Pats day is tator planting day.
We haven’t done potatoes for years and don’t plan on doing them in the near future! *L*
Tomatoes will have to wait till late April here. they will get froze off before then. I remember April 1st one year was a terrible ice storm.

  60. Max Kon Says:

KC: Well England is pretty small (the size of louisianna) and with a population around the same as Texas and California combined, so the cities are pretty big (London has 13 million in the metro area, more than Illinois; only California, Texas, New York and Florida have populations higher than London’s), and everything is pretty close together. There is absolutly no need for a car in London, you can live most of your life in a 2 mile radius, easy walking.

  61. John..your a STAR!!!
    (under my name!!)

  62. Max, we sort of live in a 2 mile radius, but our population is only 2,000
We pretty much know everyone by name πŸ™‚

  63. Patty and Max,
I usually stay in close touch with Kroger’s and Macy’s (they are right by each other) and they all know me by name!!!.

  64. Adam Housley Says:

    John-

Stop giving Susan ideas! Or…I will sick the Sgt. on you. NOW…I have been away for two days, one to travel back and one to recover from the trip and Susan. LOL Actually she was in rare form and full of energy. Surprise, Surprise!

    Live at 2pm pacific today.

  65. hahaha sylvia! that was cute!

  66. Adam will be in the strategy room at 2…west coast time.

  67. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Max
There is nothing within a 2 mile radius of me other than houses, schools, and churches. Have to drive to get anywhere around here. I can see myself walking home with 20 bags of groceries and a case of wine – LOL
Never happen in my lifetime. Gotta have my wheels

Sylvia – I stay in close touch with all of my banks – they are right by each other too and believe me – they all know me by name – (grinning)

  68. KC..i have to have my wheels too! Otherwise i’ll just stay home and never leave.

  69. Adam Housley Says:

You guys can chirp in. Either send me a tweet on twitter, or make a comment on the foxnews.com blog which will be up in a few minutes.

    Adam

  70. Adam…do you know sign language? haha
Theres too many people in my office to turn on the speakers!

  71. fyi….here’s adam link from the fox blog

    http://nc.livecast.com/live/Default.aspx?FNC-LA-HOUSLEY

    KC, where did you go?
Sylvia, did you come home with a puppy?

Adam, I wish i had good enough internet to hear the conversation. I heard something about conservatives…perked my ears of course. I’ll be back as soon as i get home to catch the last 20 minutes or so.

  72. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Patty
I’m here, but my computer went crazy for a bit, but now is fine. What did I miss???

  73. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Adam
What in the heck are you doing talking on the phone and ignoring your guests????

  74. Patty,
No puppy. Larry went with us and kept us from buying. He is so logical. Two of the puppies are already promised when they reach 10 weeks. The 3rd one (Sally) is still available. She is so cute. We held the puppies while Jasmine was being groomed and I didn’t want to let go of them. ..Right now I’m typing while Jasmine sits in my lap. I love dogs.

  75. Adam Housley Says:

Here is the link to the show. We have a few things to add and work on, but overall not too bad considering we threw it all together.

  76. dang, i really got sidetracked when i got home.
Our neighbor is on a mission. I think I mentioned it the day I was trying to figure out the ranks. He’s spearheaded the new veterans memorial. Its going to be awesome. I finally have my dad and bro’s info turned in.

Sylvia….seems like one spouse of a household has a way of being grounded. At our house, its usually me.

I love dogs, outdoors, just like all animals. I have the cat inside at work and that is about all i can handle inside.

Adam, the link above appears to be broken? or is it just my computer?

Saving Grace is finally back on tonight……I love that show and have really looked forward to it coming back!!! (now if i can just stay awake long enough to watch it!)

  77. Patty,
Jasmine sleeps in bed with our daughter. She is truly a people/dog. In fact, I think she is more people than dog! My Mother is appalled that Jasmine is allowed to sleep in bed. Mom never let us have our chihuahua in bed when my brother and I were kids.
Jasmine is tiny and doesn’t take up much space.

  78. Patty – LOL, regarding the tin foiled hat.

I’m working on a new project…………..Tin Foiled Underwear, it should offer us some resistance the next time congress tries to bend us over and take it to us again. Also, a new tee shirt design that should get a laugh at airport security checkpoints that utilize the latest “see through” security screening. The shirt will have an aluminum flake application of a hand flipping the middle finger. The tee shirt is to be worn underneath your regular clothing, then as you proceed through the screening they will see just how you feel about their latest invasion of privacy.

  79. KC: Well all the daily places are 10-15 minutes walk away, so we don’t often go more than a mile (as the crow flies) from the house.

  80. Hi all.
    Its quiet here

Did you run everybody off John? *L*

    tin foil underwear..hahaha

  81. Hi Patty,
We’ve been busy. Had to help out the vet…Jasmine’s annual checkup and blood tests and shot cost $464.00. But that also included the heartworm pills and special shampoo for flakiness!!!. What a bargain.
Hope your day is going well.

  82. dang sylvia, thats one expensive vet bill!

I went to the dr today, and my “heartworm” and “shampoo” was only 50.00! *LOL*

The day is good, so far. Thanks. Temps are much better and supposed to improve that much more the nest couple of days. 70’s by Thursday, thats always good in my world!

  83. Patty,
Still very cold here but suppose to start warming up soon.
The expensive vet bill was due to blood test…$185 this year and that same test was only 85 last year. Now that’s inflation.

  84. Good morning everyone…Another sunny day in Carolina, but it is still cold! We still have snow on the ground from the snowfall Sunday night. Usually it is gone the next day, but the temps have stayed below freezing, so there is still snow in areas that are shaded. I posted a few of the pictures, just click on my name. You know that snow is unusual if you are taking pictures of a March snowfall. Growing up in Michigan we were so sick of the stuff by March we could not wait for Spring.

Have a great day today and stay warm.

  85. Barb,
That’s impressive. We are cold here but no snow. Sunny today and suppose to reach mid 40’s. Tomorrow is suppose to be 50’s and Friday in the 60’s. Michelle returns to Phoenix on Saturday morning just as we are warming up. Even Jasmine the Yorkie doesn’t want to be out long because it’s been so bitter cold here…about 15 degrees below normal for March.

  86. I wonder if Sheriff Biden is going to oversee this spending- stimulus spending… The bridge to nowhere… The mayor in St. Louis is clearly not liking this… as the infrastructure in St. Louis needs much help financially.

The 1,084-foot bridge carries traffic on Missouri 17 across the Osage River β€” a tributary of the Missouri River β€” about 30 miles southwest of the state Capitol in Jefferson City. The new bridge will be expanded by 8 feet to a total of 28 feet wide and shortened to 970 feet. It’s expected to be completed in September 2010 at a cost of $8.5 million.

But it’s not exactly on a well-worn path. Only a couple hundred people live in Tuscumbia, the county seat of sparsely populated Miller County. It’s so remote that Missouri transportation officials brought a special satellite truck to allow highway commissioners to meet and award the bridge construction contract.

Sylvia– Jasmine’s winter coat— My cat has been wearing a make shift kitchen towel with duct tape (Elizabethan collar) for the last six days as I had another visit to our vet’s Thursday– yup– I know about the cost of vet’s– I used my home improvement money to pay for his visit– He got into to it with one of those stray cats as they use to come into the backyard… and out of it got a huge abscess with an infection– I tried to clean it myself but after a few days, I took him in and he came back from the vets with major cutting into the skin the size of a golf ball and it was just raw flesh– so I have to had to clean and pack it with antibiotic ointment-It is now the size of a nickel — yay!!!!!!!!!! As if it hadn’t healed, he would have had to have surgery– as for outdoor animals– no more outside for either of these cats– I let the dog out so the barking scares off the cats from coming back here– seems to be working…

Between the cat and Ken’s viral infection, I have had a miserable week– I look up the skies and say– “Why me?” I think I am always being tested to see if I will do what is right—

But then– I have no problems when it comes to hearing about the guys lost in the Gulf– I can’t imagine what fear these guys had when the boat capsized– Cooper’s dad is one of our sports guys here for Channel 12– what a nightmare it must be for the family and friends….

weather here is beautiful– I did a lot of labor out in the backyard to save money as tomorrow the rock is being put in to finish the backyard– so I got a head start- I started at 6:00 a.m. with a shovel to level the ground by the wall– what a job but that just saved me some money as the guys were going to do this…

Adam– where are the pictures? grrr! Did I come out that bad that you won’t sent them so not to hurt my feelings? Bless you, if so! xxxx

  87. oops– “you won’t send..” sorry-

  88. a lesson in economics– πŸ˜€

and a good day to all-

Subj: Americas Economic Woes – Heidi's Bar

Heidi is the proprietor of a bar in Berlin.
In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers
    – most of whom are unemployed alcoholics – to drink now but pay later.
She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger
    (thereby granting the customers loans).

Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers
    flood into Heidi’s bar.

Taking advantage of her customers’ freedom from immediate payment constraints,
Heidi increases her prices for wine and beer, the most-consumed beverages.
    Her sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic customer service consultant at the local bank
recognizes these customer debts as valuable future assets
    and increases Heidi’s borrowing limit.

He sees no reason for undue concern since he has the
debts of the alcoholics as collateral.

At the bank’s corporate headquarters, expert bankers transform
these customer assets into DRINKBONDS, ALKBONDS and PUKEBONDS.
These securities are then traded on markets worldwide.
No one really understands what these abbreviations mean
and how the securities are guaranteed.
Nevertheless, as their prices continuously climb,
    the securities become top-selling items.

One day, although the prices are still climbing, a risk manager
of the bank (subsequently fired, of course, due his negativity)
decides that slowly the time has come to demand payment
of the debts incurred by the drinkers at Heidi’s bar.

However, they cannot pay back the debts.

Heidi cannot fulfill her loan obligations and claims bankruptcy.

DRINKBOND and ALKBOND drop in price by 95%. PUKEBOND performs better,

  89. Some info from Chavez and CO…..this was in one of the Homeland Security updates. It was posted on March 2
Not much there for links though.

    Chavez sends troops to plants
CARACAS, Venezuela – Government troops will occupy Venezuela’s biggest rice-processing plant today, President Hugo Chavez announced yesterday, as the socialist leader expanded his crackdown on private companies that evade government price caps.
Chavez sent soldiers to occupy their first rice-processing plant Saturday, a facility in central Venezuela owned by Grupo Polar, the country’s largest food producer. Chavez said, “I’m here to safeguard the public and follow the constitution.”

The president’s original order Saturday called for troops to occupy all rice mills, but they have yet to enter a plant owned by Cargill Inc., the U.S. multinational company. Doing so likely would draw a sharp protest from the Obama administration.

  90. oh and….’morning all.

  91. this is too funny not to share…

    Ray & Bubba
    ( Arkansas mechanical engineers )
Were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up.
A woman walked by and asked what they were doing.

‘We’re supposed to find the height of the flagpole,’ said Bubba,
‘but we don’t have a ladder.’

The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a few bolts, and laid
the pole down. Then she took a tape measure from her pocket, took a
measurement, then announced, ‘Eighteen feet, six inches,’
    And walked away.

Ray shook his head and laughed. ‘Ain’t that just like a woman! We
ask for the height and she gives us the length!’
Bubba and Ray are currently working for the government…. and helping
to design the ” stimulus package .”

  92. Susan, i really miss you when you are absent!!!
    Take care of YOU!

  93. Yes Patty–

I heard about Chavez’s latest a couple days ago–

well, Obama has a Sheriff now in the White House– He can take care of this one too! πŸ˜€

  94. Patty—

    thank you sooooooooooooo much!!!

Call this silly or whatever– but I believe as long as I DO what is right, GOD WILL take care of me–

I was cleaning out my emails and I came across an email sent to me in 2007– Chavez’s real father– I sent it to Maria and Adam– I will send it to you and KC– it is so frigging funny!

    xxxx

  95. I forgot to tell you and KC- Partocubano means– Cuban birth~

  96. WOWIE— it took me quite awhile to clean out the emails— πŸ˜€

back outside to finish my labor!!!

    Hi LDG— MISS YOU!!

  97. OH– To John– great idea–

and I didn’t meet Derek– we talked a few times over the phone– He is really a cool guy!

    xxxx

  98. @Max—

I talked to a friend of mine who moved back to Wyoming– weather sucks but there are lots of good paying jobs! πŸ˜€

    Good morning everyone

I see the blog finally woke up. Guess we are all busy doing one thing or another.
Hope everyone is having a good day

  100. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Susan
You be careful working in your yard – remember your back problems

  101. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    Adam
Forgot to tell you yesterday, I really enjoyed your live report on our (California) severe drought problem. I am afraid it is going to get worse before it gets better. We grow a victory garden every year just because of the outrageous prices of produce at the stores.

How are your vines going to be affected???

  102. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

    LDG

    SURE DO MISS YOUUUUUUUUU

  103. Max Kon Says:

I think LDG has another week or so to go before he comes back, i’m not sure though.

Susan: Lowest unemployment of all the states, 3%. Which is good news for me, I should be able to get a on campus job easily, since I won’t be taking a job away from any American citizen (one of the rules for international students).

  104. KC—

as with the lack of water in CA– ILLEGALS get a free pass for being criminals–

    what a mess!!!!

I wore a back brace today– borrowed it! :D–

    I just got done!

  105. This is interesting..well sort of.

  106. Max Kon Says:

You know the earmark for the swine odor and manure management?
It’s to remove the stink of all the pork in the stimulus bill.

  107. Max,
    I agree with you.

    And good morning to all.

  108. Max—

they have to save the pork for the stimulus as they eat salmon at the White House– πŸ˜€

  109. Day 6 for Cooper and the other two– It would have to be some miracle now for these three to be found–

  110. ‘morning all.
pretty day here, definitely spring like. Maybe this will bring our bulbs up, I’m anxious to see them!!

Would have much rather stayed home, woke with another headache today ;-( grrrr

Susan, it is sad with those that havent been found. Wish they could find “something” just for the family to have something to hold on to, instead of just wandering.

A local 40 yr old, shot himself yesterday. We all know him or of him. I wouldnt know him on the street, but talked on the phone often. Always so sad for the families and friends ;-(

  111. I think that having a loved one go missing must be far worse than their dieing, since it’s often so hard to know what happened, and what happened to them.

  112. Adam Housley Says:

    Morning everyone!

I am not going to chirp in about the earmarks because I get really upset. We waste so much of OUR money!! KC, the vines are fine, they actually don’t need a ton of water and most are on drip systems.

    Adam

  113. Adam: You mistyped: “We waste so much of OUR money!!”
    I think you meant “They”

Though as individuals people do put a lot of money to waste, but that’s nothing to do with earmarks, other than being another symptom of the problems with society.

It’s clear that the current members of the governments of much of the world are part of the debt generation, with their ‘buy now, pay later’ attitude.

  114. Max,
I wonder if politicians are a reckless with their own personal money as they are with tax payers’ money.
If we dodged taxes as much as politicians did we would be fined and have liens put on our properties. Seems there is a double standard.

  115. Yes Patty—

I don’t know why I am so involved with these guys– maybe because Bruce Cooper is one of our guys here on the tele and I kept envisioning the movie– where those two were left behind by a boat and they didn’t survive– What the heck is the name of that movie? It was based on a true story– in real life the couple were missionaries — I can’t imagine the fear these three had—- just so awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the three of us just got done putting rock down in the backyard– I worked my a** off as these two guys who helped– non stop since 8:00 am– and it is now 2:10— It looks so nice in the backyard– the grass is getting green again– and the pomegranate is out of hibernation– the lime tree has little white flowers– I planted some more flowers–

We left an area by the back wall without rock as I am going to build a retainer wall as I could not get it completely leveled yesterday as I hit concrete and come to find out this is where the wall ended so I now I have another project— the guys told me I work like a man– LOL

What makes me feel good about this is I did almost all the landscaping in the backyard all by myself– with a two year break as I had left one third of it as just dirt– when I moved in here it was nothing but dirt, weeds, and garbage as it appeared everyone used the yard as a landfill!!! I worked for weeks on it and then said- forget this– so I took a two year break– and now that I keep going to look at it, it looks so neat and pretty-
I think I enjoy hard work– I can say I did it– LOL

What was so cute– I had three animals sitting by the patio door looking at us work and I just KNOW they all wanted to come out– wrong!

Max– LOL to your comment at Adam– Adam would never dream of wasting money!!!

    xxx

  116. Adam, if you’d chime in, you’d feel better!!!
We have thick skin, we can take it πŸ˜‰

Susan, I understand about that “keep looking at it” feelin. Its a huge accomplishment!!
We have 2 driveways that go to the house, one day i pulled in one, out the other, back on the highway, back in the first and went in a few circles…wasnt long and my phone rang, it was Pat, wanted to know what the hell i was doing!!! I told him the house looks so good when i drive it, i just wanted to see it some more! *LOL*

Max…I agree, missing would be awful.

  117. Patty,
I often go around in circles…at least it feels that way.

  118. Max Kon Says:

Susan: If only more people understood the joys of hard work.

Patty: Had you just been working on your house the day before?

  119. Max,
Hard work is joyful only when it’s over. Kind of like spring cleaning.

  120. Sylvia, we resided and put new windows in our house late last summer. I only see it when I drive in. So that day, I just decided to look a few more times.

  121. Max Kon Says:

Sylvia: that’s the joy of it, or if you work in such a way that you can see and measure your progress. Then from time to time you step away from the work, take it all in, feel proud, and get back to it.

  122. @All

Thank you for the kind inquires. I am back from travels, but massively overbooked for a couple more days taking care of things that came in while I was on the road. Oh, and as I have to file taxes in two countries (Japan by March 16; U.S.A. by April 15th) it is going to be a “fun” week next week too making sure they are both done right before the first one goes in.

I shall try to be seen here more, though.

    Thanks again.

  123. @Patty

  124. LDG,
Get a joib in the Obama administration and you won’t have to pay your taxes.

  125. I meant “job”…not “joib”. Can’t type worth a damn.

  126. @Sylvia

Oh, now you know better than that… not paying one’s taxes is a condition of party membership there, not a job perk. ((grin))

  127. @LDG—

SOOOO GLAD to see you stepped in—

I know about Hugo’s— and reading Adam’s blog about Luis– and cheating at the polls… imagine this???????/

Hey– getting into my world of nada aka nothing~~~ My cat, Maru, aka Cat in the Hat, is so doing healed!!!!!

I packed that Neosporin every three hours for the last week on his wound which was raw flesh~ He is down to a one fourth inch of a wound as it was to his golf ball wound.

I took his collar, make shift, off tonight– he is a very happy camper as I had him so restrained~ his owie now has a scab over it.

When I saw his owie on his small leg, the size of a golf ball, I envisioned on my thigh how big it be– dang, I thought this would be like half my leg being blown off!

For simplicity sake— I was very blessed today to think how my life is not the best but maybe very gratifying…

For I appreciate what I have and if I don’t have it all, at least I worked towards making it better than sitting on my ass and complaining! πŸ˜€

This world is so very screwed up~ and it does not seem to get better so all I can do is just do what I do everyday and deal with what I have to deal with~ and wait it out! and wait it out and wait it out!

Those who have a lot of money will survive and those of us who don’t have a lot of money, we just somehow figure it out! πŸ˜€

I saw how George Clooney is very involved with the kids in Darfur—
to see these children suffering so much was a definite heart break!!! (And he as talked to Obama about this)

But my heart can only go as far as I can help– as the cable guy, Phil, who came over this last Sunday, to fix my internet, said to me, after he saw my animals~~~ as he took in three dogs from a shelter!~ If only people did their part, we would not have all these issues!

    So true~

As for Obama– he swallowed too much as he spoke!

You can’t change the world, this is for sure…. but wearing blinders is not good either! πŸ˜€

  128. AND Adam—

where are those pictures from you and us?

  129. Susan: You will have to keep poking Adam. He’s still not sent me the video from last easter. Not that I mind, he is a busy guy.

  130. @Susan

So very glad to hear that Maru-chan is on his way to good health again. You did good there, my friend. You did good.

(***personal note to Maru and Tama: Hey! I *TOLD* you guys this house cat gig involved a different attitude… like for example: Stay In The House. But noooo, you just had to give it one more try… fellows, Susan is trying her best to give you a good home and to help with the ferals she can’t bring in… You go out there, get in dust-ups, get hurt… she has to pay to get you help. Her having to pay un-needed expenses for your health care is *not* how you say thanks for her efforts. Now get well, get smart, and get with the program… oh, and show some appreciation to the lady, ya mooks.***)

  131. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY – YIPEEEEEEE

LDG – love your advice to Susan’s mews – Now if they will only listen. They have no idea how very lucky they are to have her as a mommy.

Adam – Glad to know your vines won’t be affected by our upcoming drought. We use the drip system in our victory garden – 10 minutes a day is all it takes to get a nice harvest throughout the growing season. Not much water useage that way.

Max – Karen2 is probably still waiting for her prize for guessing Ireland – Remember??? So don’t give up – Adam will eventually remember.

Susan – you have a goooooood soul – keep up the good work that you do from your heart. You will be awarded some day. Just keep racking up those gold stars!!!

Patty – Lately, you seem to be getting a lot of those migraines – Has anyone figured out why you get them so often??? Trust me, I personally know how painful they are. I use to get them every 3 days and that went on for about 4 years. Very painful indeed. I use to pray to throw up so I would feel better. Thank God, I do not get them anymore.

  132. @LDG and KC–

    you guys are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should have listened to you in the first place, LDG– This indoor living is so much easier!!!!!!!!!!! No dirt being tracked in– no more me checking on them every five minutes as I use to worry Tama was going to eat this hummingbird which comes to visit everyday! AND no more cat fights with the wild ones out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Live and learn— πŸ˜€

Thank you LDG for caring… It makes me feel soooooooooooo good to see his wound back to healthy….. and I have such a vivid imagination– I like to put myself in that position and when I compared it to my leg, I envisioned soldiers with raw flesh hanging out and I started to get dizzy!!! I thought of you and your remark from awhile back about not being able to eat thigh meat…. (I do let my imagination go, don’t I?)

I could never be a doctor– it takes a great strong mind to hold the insides from coming out!! πŸ˜€

have a great day– I am going to build the retainer wall as I head to Lowe’s– I am on a roll here!!!! πŸ˜€

Max– I found a bunch of AZ postcards which I had bought as I was cleaning my papers today so I am going to send you a couple postcards! I love the one you sent me awhile back= thank you! xxx

Max- by the time you get your video of you three in England, Adam promised to send, you will be 80– as for my pictures, I am riding on the thought I came out soooo bad, Adam doesn’t want to hurt my feelings! πŸ˜€

(I still have Christmas presents in the closet here I haven’t sent out!!!))
    what a disgrace!

    xxxxxxxxxxx

  133. Max Kon Says:

Susan: I look forward to them.
I will probably be able to get the video the next time I meet Adam. Or that time i could just take my own. πŸ˜€

  134. @Susan (and KC, and All really…)

Hope you have a good day of it!

    @Adam Housley

World Baseball Classic has just gotten undeway over here (preliminaries), and I see one of the semis and then the finals will be in your area. I do hope you have gotten the call for covering this story.

  135. Max—

that is the solution– we take our own videos and pictures– I was in such a hurry to leave that day and I still have no clue as to where my camera is as I haven’t used it in awhile, I didn’t bring my camera– I am still working on getting a new one– this one is ok but I want a better one– so I don’t take many pictures anymore so I have yet to figure out where the camera is- probably here somewhere in the computer room– I lost my mail box key today and it took me over an hour to find it as I have already lost the first one– woe is me!!!

I see Geragos is representing OJ’s twin! He sure picks the winners!

    xxx

  136. Susan: same for me, I don’t have any camera’s that work well. But I don’t normally take photos anyway.

  137. Good Morning,
Going to be in the 70’s here today. I would be a lot happier if Michelle weren’t going back to Phoenix this morning. But that is life. We had a great visit and will look forward to seeing her in Phoenix in less than 8 weeks. Larry will take her to the airport and go on to work. The airport is near the hospital. The Cincinnati airport is actually in northern Kentucky, about a 40 minute drive from home, depending on traffic.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

  138. Hi–

ditto Max– I use to be so photo crazy but then I went more places and lately I haven’t been much anywhere so I just don’t take the pictures as I did….

    Sylvia– 😦 for Michelle’s leaving.

and a good week-end to all–

  139. Chavez is like a cancer– he just gets worse!

CARACAS (AP) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has given Brazil’s president the green light to talk about Venezuela with President Barack Obama.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva plans to meet Obama on March 14 in Washington, and Chavez said the Brazilian leader told him by phone that β€œhe would like to talk with the president of the United States about the case of Venezuela.”

U.S.-Venezuelan relations remain prickly despite the change of administrations in Washington, while Brazil’s left-leaning president has maintained friendly relations both with the U.S. and the socialist Chavez.

β€œWe don’t need any intermediary to speak with any government on the planet, but since it’s Lula and in good faith, I told him yes, that I gave him the green light,” Chavez said Thursday in a televised speech, addressing troops.

Chavez added, however, that β€œI’ve told him I don’t have much hope of that government changing.”

Da Silva’s office confirmed the two spoke by phone Wednesday and agreed the Brazilian leader could bring up Venezuela with Obama.

Chavez has condemned recent U.S. State Department reports alleging human rights problems in Venezuela and a lack of cooperation in counter-drug efforts.

Chavez said Washington will have to show more respect if relations are to improve. β€œWe aren’t asking for anything. We just demand respect,” he said.

    __________

I saw Gerlado is in El Paso covering the drug wars—- one consolation to the 8,000 killings, according to Geraldo, mostly of these were the bad guys shooting the bad guys— (go for it bad versus bad!!!! But go at it just bad versus bad and leave the good ones out!) πŸ˜€ Let them kill themselves!) And everyone else go hide– just like the western days– have a shoot-out while the good people go for cover!)

    — it hurts to turn the news on…. It seems the message coming across is to be read as “fear.”

I think of this chorus to a very popular song in Mexico– (Cielito Lindo)

    Coro:
    Ay, ay, ay, ay,
    Canta y no llores,
    Porque cantando se alegran,
    Cielito lindo, los corazones

    (ay, ay, ay,ay
    sing and don’t cry
    because singing will cheer,
    pretty sky, the hearts)

    πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  140. Susan… I just had a “I Love Lucy” flashback with that song. All I could hear in my brain was Desi singing. LOL πŸ™‚

  141. Barb—

lol and I sound like Lucy when I sing it– πŸ˜€

(I was just looking up the origin– Spain)

  142. Who knows how to do that photo thing where you can take a picture and then another and put them together– photo shop? Is that it?

I can make one of an older picture of Adam, which I have a few from his birthday album, and old picture of myself– when I was in Washington State where there is a clear picture of me totally buzzed, and these two can be cut and put together!! Obviously, Adam is not sending me a picture– his friends used their cameras so maybe they haven’t gotten around to sending him one– or they just deleted the pictures– πŸ˜€
And since this may be the case, I will make one up of us here this last time– somebody help!!!! πŸ˜€ and post the picture– πŸ˜€

  143. Susan… that would be photoshop, it costs a bunch. I goggled edit photos and got a number of web sites that are photo editors that are free. Try that

    Barb

  144. ‘good morning all.
    or afternoon.
We have 2 of the older grand kids here, wonder what the odds are that i get them to help clean the house? haha

    Sylvia….I always hate good-byes

I’ll be back later on, i must get some things done.
Its rainy and dreary here, makes it difficult to find any gumption!

  145. Max Kon Says:

Patty: Make it into a game. Make them compete, and give a prize to who ever is best in each room.

  146. Max… πŸ˜‰
Lets see, one just got braces, her mouth hurts terribly bad, so she is doing homework, its quiet up there, so that will probably do her more good than not.
The other, he’s had his braces for about 2 weeks, so he is past the initial pain, but he has terrible bronchitis(sp?).
I have him sweeping out the van. Figured it wasnt “outside” and the getting up and doing something would do him and his lungs some good.

  147. Max Kon Says:

Patty: So that’s why so many kids get braces… it keeps them quiet. I never knew.

  148. Patty,
Keeping busy is also good for empty nesters who miss their kid and grand dog.

  149. Max-

    good thinking! xxx

    Patty—

ouch to the braces but a nice smile always goes a long way! The children will love their teeth once they get the braces off– but then the parents need to remind the most important thing to having a nice smile without bone loss is flossing…. πŸ˜€

    LDG—

I know the definiton for domesticated— it does not only apply to humans but animals as well— Once you can’t go outiside and you are confined, you eat and sleep out of boredom—- πŸ˜€

I took Maru, Cat in the Hat, to the vet today for today was follow up on the wound, and my vet was so cool!!!!!!! He actually gave me a very high compliment…. He was impressed at how the wound had healed up so nicely and he had anticipated to do surgery for sutures as the scar tissue was so infected and damaged— I told him how I cleaned and packed it every to three or four hours… I basically told him I had to fix it because the raw flesh was making me sick so I got desperate… πŸ˜€

The compliment— well, you know how it is when you look at someone in the eyes and the mind just clicks— He told me, “I am impressed at what you did.”

I didn’t have to ask him what he was impressed about– he figured out I actually care about the well-being of what is in my life… as he has met Ken more than once– as we all go into his clinic– Ken just doing his gait thing, me hurrying to get in on time with an animal…. LOL We do look kind of a sort sad of a group!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus he sent me home with free meds— πŸ˜€

I have been so frigging busy, yard, doctors, and then the reading I am having to do for my Tuesday class, is this world still here? I catch some news at night when I am lying on a bed or couch or read a bit of the headlines on the computer in the morning–

I think what the psychological reasoning for this is because everytime I hear the news, I get depressed!!!! So I focus on in my world around me and just try to go from there– and that is bad enough!!! πŸ˜€

Adam– where are those pictures? THIS is the last time I am asking!!!

    buenas noches to all!

  150. Barb—

I could always crop and fit– without having to buy it or download free stuff?

    xxxx

  151. Good Morning from daylight savings time Ohio. I’m not sure what time it is because my body/brain says 5:30AM but the new time says 6:30. I don’t adjust easily.
    Susan,
You do well with animals and humans. That’s more important than knowing what’s going on in the world.

  152. Susan: I’m still addicted to the news. I don’t think it makes me depressed though. Not even Glenn Beck! πŸ˜›

  153. I would say good morning but my head is pounding from the roofers. They are tearing off the old roof and debris is flying everywhere. There are at least 12 Mexicans on the roof and another 6 standing around. The noise and flying debris makes me feel like I’m in a tornedo which won’t end.

BTW…..I hope those guys are legals. We hired a big company…Mr. Roof.
We assume they checked these guys out. I don’t know Spanish so I have no idea what they are saying. The supervisor spoke English to Larry.

  154. KC - Fresno, Ca. Says:

Good morning all and happy Monday

    THREE CONTRACTORS

Three contractors are bidding to fix a fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota.

All three go with a White House Official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. “Well, he says, I figure the job will run about $900.00: $400.00 for materials, $400.00 for my crew, and $100.00 profit for me.”

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, ” I can do this job for $700.00: $300.00 for materials, $300.00 for my crew, and a $100.00 profit for me.”

The Chicago contractor doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over to the White House Official and whispers $2,700.00.

The official incredulous says, “You didn’t even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?”

The Chicago contractor whispers back, ” $1,000.00 for me, $1,000.00 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.”

    “Done” replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how the new stimulus plan will work!!!!

  155. KC,
    Very funny.

  156. Adam Housley Says:

    LDG-

I have been following the World Baseball Classic and I hope there is eventually a news reason for us to cover it….I am ready be sure! Also, Susan I have been travelling and was preparing over the weekend for the next few days and live reports from the border in San Diego. I am finally seeing the sat guys again (Eric and Rich) they have the pics, so I’ll get to download them.

    Adam

  157. @Adam—

I was teasing you! I don’t need the pictures as I have these in my mind anyway— from how I got to where you were and what happened then…

I even remember what you wore! πŸ˜€ Jeans– yay!

Thanks for being a nice guy again— so no, the pictures are not my big thing… as I think anyway, I just wanted to have one to show off— grrr! that is called arrogance!

Plzz say hello to Rich, Eric, and Scott— and your mom, dad, Tamera, Milano, and the ten thousand other people you know! πŸ˜€

I do ask this of you– please, porfavor, send Max the video of when you did your Ireland trip and then ended up meeting Max~ πŸ˜€

    xxxxx

  158. oh yay baseball coming up here real soon–

    Go Diamondbacks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

( I keep it real simple– I know the name of the team here as I have lived here a few years, so I just cheer for them and then I don’t have to remember any other teams– I have no clue who plays for who!)

    true story!

  159. Sylvia–

do those roofers finally go home? I hope!

  160. Susan,
The roofers were here for 12 hours and are suppose to finish the job today. However, it is raining lightly this morning and they can’t work if the roof is wet. We have a large roof so the job takes a long time.

  161. @Sylvia–

good thing your husband is a doctor– he can suggest what aspirin to take to get rid of the headache I bet you are getting or have!!!

    and morning to all—

  162. @Adam Housley

Luck on that assignment down at the border.

Speaking of San Diego, that’s where Team Japan plays the next stage of the WBC. If you are on an assignment though, bets are no chance to get to see a game.

    @All

(a very brief) good morning! Be well and safe, and I’ll try an look in here as I can. I should free up to a usual and more casual schedule later in the week. TTFN

  163. Hi all.
So busy here, tis the season.
Bur, its cold again. Into the teens tonight.
Spring is so close we can almost “taste” it! haha
Our tulips and jonquils that are up a few inches, are going to get “bit” I’m afraid.

Sylvia…wow, i would never be able to take that hammering. Your hubby would have to bring the demerol and vistaril home for me!!

KC…you asked about headaches. Yes, Ive been to Mayo for them. No, they didn’t have any answers. The Dr told me, he wished he did, cause I was just like his wife. All he could tell me was “they wont kill you”…many days I would argue that fact.
They are very seasonal, the fall is the absolute worst. Time changes will mess with them, and storm fronts. I honestly can’t say the last time i went a day without a headache. Its just something I live with. Thank God they arent all migraines!!

    Ok, back to the grind.

  164. @All

    A feel-good story (Patty-style πŸ™‚ ) from Spring Training:

  165. Susan: re baseball:
    Go Casper Ghosts!
Ok, they will probably loose, but still…

  166. Good Morning from chilly Ohio. Our upper 70’s is gone and we are back to winter for a few days. It was nice while it lasted. The good news is we are probably out of snow season. I say probably because it has already snowed on Opening Day for baseball in early April. One never knows for sure which season we are in…..the calendar is meaningless.

  167. Did anyone see the video of people protesting the homecoming of British troops from Iraq?

  168. Hi ya.
D@mn its cold! 5 degrees this morning.

Thats some story ldg! Truly a “tear jerker”!

Adam..did see your late report lastnight. I wish the local cops, here, there, everywhere, would go after the dealers instead of the “lil guy”. Those little users on the street are the victims in my world. The dealer is the one that is a true threat. (well, after the smugglers that is) Most of them aren’t stupid enough to get hooked on what they sell. That would pretty much ruin the profit margin.

  169. Hi all
Susan did you see me wave at you this morning as I flew thru Phoenix? I am in Vegas today helping Julia get packed to move. It is a very short trip as I am flying back home tonight on the red eye, also thru Phoenix. I love the pass benefits, but it is standby and every body wants to go to Vegas. I would probably still be in Phoenix but a flight was late so empty seats!
I would live to have had time to go to a Spring Training game there. Oh well a very quick trip.

    Hey everyone-

I know as usual I am waaaaaaaaaay behind. I have to say, the last few days it is tough to get any computer time at all down along the border. We are all shoved into a small truck, with a small table and connections are slow at best. So….later tonight a new post and I did get one onto foxnews.com
